Bah is situated at 80
kms South of Agra on the old Agra-Etawah route. Around this area is where
Yamuna and Chambal River meet. This area lies on the border of Madhya Pradesh
State and Uttar Pradesh and the ravines alongwith Chambal river is where
dacoits used to thrive in 1970s and 1980s.
Area now is thanks to
efforts of The Chambal Conservation Foundation (set up in 1999 by Kunwar Ram
Pratap Singh and his wife, local royal family members), is known for Gangetic
Dolphins, Migratory Birds, Alligators, Crocodiles and a completely nature
centric / experiential experience offered by Chambal Safari Lodge comprising
Jeep / River / Horse / Camel Safaris, cycling tours, Village walks / nature
walks, Ancient temple visits etc.
While area is growing
popularity as an off-beat nature centric and unique experiential getaway, its
now a very popular stop (at least 2 nights) with bird watchers from all over
the world.
