Slovakia is a fairly new country; it became an independent nation only in 1993. Bordered by Czech Republic, Poland, Austria, Hungary and Ukraine, Slovakia is a tiny landlocked country famous for its craggy mountains, rustic landscape, castles, and quaint villages. Slovakia is visited by well heeled Indian travellers as part of Central Europe itinerary.

Visa, Season and Access
Visa: Guests arriving directly to Slovakia need to have Pre-approved Schengen Visa. Guests crossing over to Slovakia from neiboring countires and holding valid Schengen Visa do not require an additional Slovakia Visa.
Season: Slovakia is best visited during summer (June – August) when the weather is more reliable and all sights are open. Being a densely forested country, autumn (October – November) is good time to visit to see the changing colours the foliage. Although the country looks beautiful covered in snow, there is little to do in winters (December – March) apart from the High Tatras Mountains where one can enjoy skiing.
