06 NIGHTS / 07 DAYS ROUND TOUR - IN SRI LANKA - (Culture, Nature and Adventure)
DAY 01 - Arrival at the Colombo International Airport, Katunayake. - Meet, Assist and transfer to hotel in Colombo.
Upon check in your hotel leave for sightseeing tour in Colombo. Drive through the commercial and city centre area known as the “Fort”, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. See the busy markets and bazaars of Pettah, visit a Buddhist and a Hindu temple, an Old Dutch church and continue to the Cinnamon Gardens residential area. Drive past the Town Hall, Independence Square and the B.M.I.C.H (International Convention Centre).
DINNER & OVERNIGHT AT CINNAMON GRAND HOTEL, COLOMBO (5*) OR SIMILAR
DAY 02 - Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast leave for Minneriya National Park by private jeeps.
Minneriya National Park has an extent of 8889 hectares and it surrounds Minneriya lake with a feeder area of 249 square
kilometers. Wild elephants are largely benefited by the increased availability of water in the Minneriya Lake.
Dominant vegetation types found in Minneriya National Park are Medium canopy secondary forest with scrub,
ridge forests with open Low canopy species, grasslands, plains and wetlands.
Abandoned slash and burn cultivated patches (chenas) also are found within this National Park.
Amongst the animals found at the Minneriya National Park are the wild Elephants, Purpled faced leaf monkey, Toque monkey,
Sambar, Spotted deer, Painted strokes great white pelicans, Ruddy turnstones
and Grey Herons. The threatened and rare wild animals found in this park is the leopard and sloth in bear.
Return to your hotel in Habarana.
DAY 03 - Breakfast at hotel.
Option 01
After breakfast climb the Sigiriya Rock Fortress. Sigiriya rock fortress built by King Kassapa in the 05thcentury A.D. and was a Royal Citadel for more than 18 years. The lion rock is a citadel of unusual beauty, rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The base of the rock is ringed by a moat and rampart and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens. See the world famous frescoes of the “Heavenly maidens” of Sigiriya in a sheltered pocket of the rock.
Thereafter leave for Polonnaruwa for a sightseeing tour.
Polonnaruwa was the Islands medieval Capital during the period 11th to 13th century A.D. It rose to fame after the decline of
Anuradhapura. The city in its day was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many shrines.
Visit the ruins of the Audience hall, Council Chamber, the Royal Citadel, the Kumara Pokuna (pond), Royal Pavillion, Siva Dewale, the Thuparama, the Vatadage Relic House, Kiriwehera, Gal Vihare, with some of the most impressive sculptures & the reservoirs.
Afterwards return to your hotel in Sigiriya.
Option 02 - After the early breakfast leave for the HOT AIR BALLOONING TOUR in
Sigiriya. This event is one of the most adventurous tours you could ever experience.
With this event you could experience the fun of assisting the pilot and crew in preparing the balloon for take off. Our experience crew will have you assist in getting the 350000 cu foot envelope ready for inflation which is always as memorable as the journey in the air. Enjoy the picturesque landscape at sunrise, as nature awakens to the first rays of the new day and your planned 60 (approx.) minute flight. Breathe in the wide-open spaces, the panorama, nature and the spectacular land marks.

DAY 04 - Breakfast at hotel.
Thereafter leave for Dambulla and visit the Rock Cave Temple. Dambulla, a vast isolated rock mass 500 ft. high and a mile round the base. Here is found the famous rock-temple dating to the first century BC. The caves of Dambulla sheltered the kind during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the throne, he caused to be built the most magnificent of rock-temples of this island.
The temple consists of a series of 5 caves containing many statues and paintings including a 47 ft. long statue of the Buddha.
Afternoon leave for Kandy enroute visit the Spice Garden, Matale.
Upon arrival in Kandy, commence sightseeing tour of Kandy city. Drive past the picturesque University Campus premises and with a visit to the Market Place, an arts & crafts show room. Then drive along the Upper Lake road to get a panoramic view of the Kandy Lake and its environs.
Also visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, where a rare collection of tropical exotic and indigenous flora can be viewed and also the famous Orchid House.
Upon arrival in Kandy check in your hotel. Later afternoon visit Temple of Tooth Relic of “the Buddha” and continue to the venue where a cultural pageant would take place and witness this event as well as a fire walking display.

DAY 05 - Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast leave for Pinnawela and visit the Elephant Orphanage. This Orphanage was set up by the Government to rescue and rehabilitate elephants from the jungles that have fallen in to pits dug up by poachers etc., to obtain tusks etc., At the Elephant orphanage witness the feeding of elephants. The highlight of this event is to observe feeding of baby elephants using bottles of milk after feeding of the elephants they will be taken by foot to nearby river for their daily bath.
Thereafter leave for Nuwara Eliya, en route visit a tea plantation and a tea factory.
At the tea factory witness the process of manufacture of tea from plucking of the green leaves to packeting of the processed tea which is mainly meant for export markets.
Upon arrival in Nuwara Eliya visit the Nuwara-Eliya Town, Market place, Golf Course, (one of the finest 18 hole Golf Course in Asia) the hill club, and drive around this hill station viewing Lake Gregory. Sri Lanka's Highest mountain Pidurutalagala (8282 ft) is located here.
After finishing the sightseeing in Nuwara Eliya check in your hotel.
Dinner and overnight at a heritage hotel at Nuwara Eliya.
DAY 06 - Breakfast at hotel.
After breakfast leave for Horton Plains. Horton Plains, World's best nature reserves, which consist of famous "World's End", "Bakers Fall", Chiminini Pool" etc. Beside Elk, Deer, Giant Squirrel, Wild Boar, Wild Hair, Porcupine, and a variety of Migratory birds haunt Horton Plains nature Reserve, which is only one of its kind to this region.
As said by counting, there are 16 Leopards in Horton Plains. If you are lucky you may get a glimpse of a Leopard during your break in the Horton Plains. A sheer drop of 3,700ft, World's End offers one a fantastic and awesome view. Down below, one is greeted, by the beautiful view of sprawling tea estate laved with gravel roads and line rooms, and if one looks beyond, by breathtaking panoramic view of the southern part of the island down to the coast.
Return to your hotel in Nuwara Eliya.
DAY 07 : Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast leave for Kitulgala for water rafting, where the famous film “bridge on the river kwai”.was filmed.The 1957 Blockbuster Movie “Bridge on the River Kwai” and the historic blowing up of the bridge during the train crossing was enacted on the Kalani River at Kitulgala.
This river is sometimes called the River Kwai as a result. The location and movie that made William Holden / Alec Guinness plus Jack Hawkins household movie icons, under the direction of Sam Siegel, will be the same river waters that form the rapids to your own white water adventure. We‘ll stop alongside the concrete pylons that form the remains of the bridge as a worthwhile photo opportunity.
Kitulgala is the most ideal place for water rafting in Srilanka. Afterwards drop at Airport for departure or drop at a beach hotel.
