03 NIGHTS / 04 DAYS ROUND TOUR IN SRI LANKA (Cultural and Buddhism)
DAY 01 - Arrival at the Colombo International Airport, Katunayake. Meet, Assist and transfer to hotel in Colombo.
On arrival check in your hotel. Afternoon commence a sightseeing tour in Colombo.
Drive through the commercial and city centre area known as the “Fort”, built by the Portuguese in the 16th century. See the busy markets and bazaars of Pettah, visit a Buddhist and a Hindu temple, an Old Dutch church and continue to the Cinnamon Gardens residential area. Drive past the Town Hall, Independence Square and the B.M.I.C.H (International Convention Centre).
DAY 02 - Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast leave for Sigiriya and climb the rock fortress.
Sigiriya rock fortress built by King Kassapa in the 05thcentury A.D. and was a Royal Citadel for more than 18 years. The lion rock is a citadel of unusual beauty, rising 200 metres from the scrub jungle. The base of the rock is ringed by a moat and rampart and extensive gardens including the renowned water gardens. See the world famous frescoes of the “Heavenly maidens” of Sigiriya in a sheltered pocket of the rock.
Thereafter leave for Polonnaruwa for a sightseeing tour. Polonnaruwa was the Islands medieval Capital during the period 11th to 13th century A.D. It rose to fame after the decline of
Anuradhapura. The city in its day was fortified with three concentric walls, beautified with parks and gardens and sanctified by many shrines.
Visit the ruins of the Audience hall, Council Chamber, the Royal Citadel, the Kumara Pokuna (pond), Royal Pavillion, Siva Dewale, the Thuparama, the Vatadage Relic House, Kiriwehera, Gal

DAY 03 - Breakfast at hotel. Proceed to Kandy . Enruote stop at Dambulla and visit the Rock Cave Temple.
Dambulla, a vast isolated rock mass 500 ft. high and a mile round the base. Here is found the famous rock-temple dating to the first century BC. The caves of Dambulla sheltered the kind during his 14 years of exile from Anuradhapura. When he regained the throne, he caused to be built the most magnificent of rock-temples of this island.
The temple consists of a series of 5 caves containing many statues and paintings including a 47 ft. long statue of the Buddha.
Continue to Kandy enroute visit the Spice Garden, Matale. Upon arrival in Kandy check in your hotel.
Afternoon commence sightseeing tour of Kandy city.
Drive past the picturesque University Campus premises and with a visit to the Market Place, an arts & crafts show room. Then drive along the Upper Lake road to get a panoramic view of the Kandy Lake and its environs.
Also visit the Peradeniya Botanical Gardens, where a rare collection of tropical exotic and indigenous flora can be viewed and also the famous Orchid House.
Later afternoon visit Temple of Tooth Relic of “the Buddha” and continue to the venue where a cultural pageant would take place and witness this event as well as a fire walking display.
DAY 04 - Breakfast at hotel. After breakfast leave for Pinnawela and visit the Elephant Orphanage.
This Orphanage was set up by the Government to rescue and rehabilitate elephants from the jungles that have fallen in to pits dug up by poachers etc., to obtain tusks etc., At the Elephant orphanage witness the feeding of elephants. The highlight of this event is to observe feeding of baby elephants using bottles of milk after feeding of the elephants they will be taken by foot to nearby river for their daily bath.
Continue drive to Bentota for beach stay or to Colombo for onward journey.
