Shambha-La is a beautiful reosrt located in a grove of poplar
trees just a mile away from the heart of Ley town, paradise in
Ladakhi folklore. Treks, tours and exquisite camps can be
arranged in a beautiful valley Nubra. Its peaceful
tranquil setting give new meaning to the words Sounds Of
Silence.
Ladakh (Jammu
& Kashmir, India) is a
tiny Buddhist state at the northern tip of the mountains and
glaciers between China and Pakistan. It is a silent blissful
place of thin air and magical geological shapes.
The mighty Indus river which cuts arcoss the high valleys and
through the mountain gorges can look almost like a stream when
viewed from the hilltop monasteries.·
It is also know as Little Tibet. Leh is at an altitude of
11000 feet above sea level. It is a monestary circuit where
all four buddhist sects are represented by monasteries in
ladakh; from the oldest Nyimgmapa sect, the Drokhpa and
saskyapa ones to the most recent(16th century) and widely
represented sect, the Gelugspa.
Shambha-La is
operational from May 01 till end October. September is
the best month to visit.
