In Bekal :

  • Ananathpura Temple (30kms from Bekal) - the only lake temple in Kerala, is temple is regarded as the 'Moolasthanam' (original seat) of Anathapadmanabha.

In Mananthavady :

  • Thirunelli Temple - this Lord Vishnu temple is famous for the Koothambalam and Papanasini, the mountain spring believed to have divine cleansing powers to absolve the soul of all its sins.

In Vadakada :

  • Lokanarkavu Bhagvathi temple as is familiarly known, is situated at Memunda, six kilometers east of vadagara in North Kerala near Calicut. Two festivals are celebrated here annually in the months of Vrischikam (November-December) and Meenam (March-April). The festival in Vrischikam is known as Mandalavilakku, which is the most important one.

In Ponnani

  • Thirunavaya Temple - is the place where 'Mamangam', a grand assembly of the rulers of Kerala was held here once every 12 years, in olden times and was last held in 1755 AD .

In Thrissur :

  • Guruvayoor Temple - is dedicated to Lord Krishna. According to Legend, this temple was created by 'Guru', the 'preceptor of the gods' and 'Vayu', the 'god of winds'.

  • Thriprayar Temple - is dedicated to Lord Rama and is famous for the wood carvings, sculptures and Mural-paintings. The Snake boat race held here is always a major attraction. The race is held in August/September every year.

  • Koodalmanikyam Temple (21 kms from Thrissur) - is the only temple in India dedicated to Bharatha, who, according to mythology, was the brother of Lord Rama.

  • Vadakkumnathan Temple - is a Lord Shiva shrine. It is famous for the annual Pooram festival held in April/May every year, which combines the majestic elephant pageantry with the frenzied playing of drums and cymbals and rounded off with a fireworks extravaganza.

In Pallakad :

  • Kalpathy Temple - is the oldest Lord Shiva temple, built in 1425 AD. It is famous for The Chariot Festival which occurs in the month of November every year.

In Ernakulam:

  • Aranmula Temple - is said to date back to the days of Mahabharata and is dedicated to Lord Parathasarthy (Krishna) located 9 kms from Ernakulam.

  • Chottanikkara Bhagavathy Temple is one of the most celebrated Hindu shrines of Kerala. The temple is located in Chottanikkara town, 17kms away from Ernakulam.

In Alleppey :

  • Ambalapuza Temple - is dedicated to Lord Krishna and is famous for the 'Pallipana' that is performed by 'Velans' (sorcerers) once in twelve years. In ancient times human sacrifice was conducted here.

  • Mannarshala Temple (32 kms from Alappuzha) - is devoted to serpent worship and is dotted with 30,000 serpent idols, the main ones are the Nagaraja or the serpent king and his consort, Sarpayakshini.

In Kottayam :

  • Ettumanoor Temple - an ancient Shiva Temple built in the 16th century is famous for the copper plated conical roof and the beautiful carvings from the Ramayana, Bhagwata and Krishna Leela.

In Varkala :

  • Sivagiri Temple - is the Samadhi (resting place) of Sri Naravana Guru.

  • Janardhan Swamy Temple - This is a Krishna temple located just 45 kms north of Trivandrum at Varkala

In Trivandrum :

  • Padmabhaswamy Temple  - Padmanabhaswamy temple, is a famous Hindu temple of Lord Vishnu, located inside the East Fort in city of Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, India. The temple is one of the 108 divya desam.
