Char Dham
  • Badrinath - situated at an altitude of 3133 mts, on the banks of the Alaknanda River is the temple of Shri Badrinathji, dated back to the Vedic times. Believed to have been built by Adi Guru Shankracharya.

  • Kedarnath - is one of the twelve Jyotirlinga, situated at an altitude of 3584 mts.; it is believed that the Pandavas sought the blessings of Lord Shiva to atone their sins after the battle of Mahabharata.

  • Gangotri - is perched at a height of 3042 mts. and was constructed in the 18th century. According to mythology, Goddess Ganga manifested herself in the form of a river to absolve the sins of King Bhagirath's predecessors, following his severe penance of several centuries.

  • Yumnotri - is the origin of the river Yamuna and was the once the abode of Asti Muni.
