Madhya Pradesh Short-break Itinerary - Pench(1)-Pachmarhi(3)

 

This is a Short break itinerary that covers wildlife reserve of Pench and hill station of Pachmarhi. Pench is a tiger reserve and offers excellent birding (Park open Oct-June). Pachmarhi (2500 ft) is an all-season destination offering a relaxed ambience and a hill station feel. 

Suggested Itinerary (This is an indicative itinerary, Sequence of the activities may vary and depend on prevailing weather condition and guest preferences)

Day 1 : Arrive at Nagpur (Railway station and Airport) and Proceed to Pench (90 kms - 2 hours). Evening Park Safari.
Day 2: Leave for Pachmarhi (170 kms) after Morning Jeep Safari and breakfast. Reach by evening
Day 3 and 4: Either relax at Pachmarhi and take long walks and do boating or go for sightseeing around the pachmarhi which is known for its waterfalls and view points..
Day 5: Proceed to onward journey either from Pipariya (Railway station at 46 kms) or Bhopal (Airport at 200 kms)  

Extension

  • Heritage city of Bhopal and Stupas of Sanchi (46 kms from Bhopal) can be visited given 1 or 2 additional nights.

Pachmarhi (State : Madhya Pradesh, Category - Hill Station, Height - 2500 ft) - Pachmarhi is a British era hill station situated on a plateau sporting large open areas, lawns, greenery and a lake (For boating). Around Pachmarhi there are number of temples, waterfalls and trekking routes that makes it a popular destination for everyone.

* Priyadarshini, (Forsyth Point) - This vantage viewing point marks the place from where Pachmarhi was discovered by Captain Forsyth in 1857. The British developed Pachmarhi as a resort and their influence is embodied in its churches and colonial architecture.

* Handi Khoh - Pachmarhi's most impressive ravine has a 300 feet high precipice.
