A Bird watching tour in Rajasthan is not complete without a visit to Khichan; a village situated 130 kms from Jodhpur and 5 kms from Phalodi. 

Khichan is a natural sanctuary to the bird Kurjan. Known to the Indian Bird watching connoisseurs as Kurjan, Karkara and Kunch, these Cranes belong to South Western Europe, Black sea, Poland, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, North and South Africa and Mongolia.

These birds travel thousands of miles and migrate to India during winter. Bird watching becomes a different experience as the Demoiselle Cranes not only light up the sky with their hued wings but add to the spectacle by making a lot of noise.
