Chimlagalur, Bhadra Reservoir and Kudremukh Area.
Chikmagalur
(3000-3500 ft asl) - Coffee plantations and forests combine to give a feel
that is a little different to Coorg. The area is less populated and
plantations are larger, surrounded with hills, forests and river streams.
Trekking in the
mountains, Walking through the Coffee
Plantation, Bird Watching are popular
activities here. Guests can visit Halebid and Belur temples that are well
visited. Kemmanagundi hill station is also accessible from here.
Bhadra
(3000-3500 ft asl) - Set on Bhadra Reservoir, area is surrounded by forests
that abound in wildlife. Apart from jeep rides into the Bhadra Tiger Reserve
Wildlife Sanctuary, there are water based adventures such as sailing,
kayaking, water cycle, water trampoline, joy fishing on offer.
Other activities
include guided trekking, island camping, bird watching, mountain biking,
rock climbing for children and star gazing. Visits to Tyverekoppa Lion and
Tiger Safari and to the Sakkrebyle Elephant camp are also options here .
Kalasa
- Here guests can experience a rainforest. Activities here comprise
Trekking, Kayaking, River Rafting and Biking under the supervision of
skilled trainers from Bangalore. From
a Pilgrimage perspective, Sringeri Mutt and Annapoorneshwari temple are
visited from here.
