Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive Delhi Arrive in Delhi. Guests arriving late evening have no option for visits. However guests arriving during the day can start with a half day visit to South Delhi areas of Qutab Minar, Lotus Temple and Dilli Haat (Craft market)

Day-2 Delhi exploration Morning Visit to experience Old City area of Chandni Chowk via a Cycle Rickshaw Ride followed by visit to Red Fort (UNESCO heritage site) and Jama Masjid. After unch proceed to visit Humayun Tomb (UNESCO Heritage Site) via India Gate and Parliament House. Then return to hotel by evening.

Day-3 Delhi – Agra  Morning departure for Agra (210 kms - 4 hours). Reach Agra by noon. After Lunch visit Agra Fort followed by a visit to The Taj Mahal (One of the original 7 wonders of the world) in late afternoon.

Day-4 Agra – Fatehpur Sikri – Bharatpur Morning departure for Bharatpur (60 kms - 1.5 hour) Enroute visit lost city of Fatehpur and Sikri, very popular with heritage travellers to Agra. Reach Bharatpur by Lunch time. Guided bird watching safari in afternoon (Cycle Rickshaw Safari) in Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary (Popularly known as Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary, home to 300+ species of birds concentrated in 29 sq kms of Woodlands, Grasslands and marshlands)

Day-5 Bharatpur - Ranthambhore Morning Guided bird watching safari in Bharatpur Sanctuary and depart by noon for Ranthambhore (250 kms - 5 hours), a renowned destination for those looking to sight the elusive Royal Bengal Tiger in the wild.

Day-6 Safaris in Ranthambhore Morning and Afternoon Safaris by Shared Jeep or Canter in Ranthambhore National Park to have a chance to sight Tigers in the wild.

Day-7 Ranthambhore – Jaipur  Morning departure for Jaipur (180 kms - 4 hours). Evening visit to cultural resort of Chokhi Dhani to get a quick insight into culture and festivities of Rajasthan.

Day-8 Jaipur exploration Morning Elephant ride to Amer Fort (UNESCO heritage site) and spend an hour visiting the imposing fort. Thereafter proceed to visit Jal Mahal (Water Palace), City Palace, Jantar Mantar (Observatory) and Hawa Mahal (Palace of Winds)

Day-9 Proceed to Delhi Proceed to Delhi (260 kms - 5 hours) for onward journey.

Agra :

  • Agra Fort - Agra Fort is a UNESCO World heritage site and one of the most visited monuments after Taj Mahal. There are several areas to explore and a guided visit can take upto an hour and a half to explore. Diwan-e-aam, Diwaan-e-khaas, Khas Mahal (white marble palace, one of the best examples of painting on marble), Sheesh Mahal, Mina Masjid, Moti Masjid are some of the areas that are worth a visit.

  • Taj Mahal - The Taj Mahal is often the reason to visit India. Its a monument built by Shahjehan in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal and became symbol of love world over. Taj Mahal today is a major attraction and one of the original seven wonders of the world.

  • Fatehpur Sikri - Built during the 16th century, the Fatehpur Sikri is one of the best preserved collection of Mughal architecture in India. Fatehpur Sikri often referred to as the lost city and has a number of monuments to visit.

  • Bird watching in Bharatpur - Keoladeo national park or Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary has been the most organized bird sanctuaries in India. Bharatpur remains an attraction for anyone traveling on Agra - Jaipur route. Over the years 380 resident and migrant species of birds have been recorded in the area.

Jaipur :

  • Jantar Mantar Observatory - The Jantar Mantar is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments, built in 18th century. The Jaipur observatory is the largest and best preserved of few such other built in that period and is considered one of the world heritage site.

  • Hawa Mahal - Hawa Mahal is a unique five-storey building built in 1799 akin to the honeycomb of the beehive with its 953 small windows called jharokhas. The original intention of the lattice was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen, since they had to observe strict "purdah". Its a popular monument to visit for guests arriving at Jaipur for its unique architecture and views around the area.

  • City Palace Jaipur - City Palace is a palace complex in Jaipur which was the seat of the royal family of Jaipur. The Chandra Mahal palace now houses a museum (Sawai Mansingh Museum) but the greatest part of it is still a royal residence. The palace complex incorporates an impressive and vast array of courtyards, gardens and buildings.

  • Jal Mahal - Jal Mahal (meaning "Water Palace") is a palace located in the middle of the Man Sagar Lake in Jaipur city. The Jal Mahal palace is considered an architectural beauty built in the Rajput and Mughal styles of architecture. Number of birds seen around the lake makes it a good place for a bird watcher to arrive in winter.

  • Amer Fort - Amer Fort is located in Amer, 12 kilometres from Jaipur. It is one of the principal tourist attractions of Jaipur, located high on a hill. Amer Fort was built in 18th century and is known for its artistic style. With its large ramparts, series of gates and cobbled paths, the fort overlooks the Maota Lake, at its forefront. The fort is a must for its different areas, its spread over 4 levels and its aesthetic ambiance. The areas comprise Diwan-e-Aam or the "Hall of Public Audience", the Diwan-e-Khas or the "Hall of Private Audience", the Sheesh Mahal (mirror palace) or Jai Mandir, and the Sukh Niwas where a cool climate is artificially created by winds that blow over the water cascade within the palace. There is also a stepwell nearby that could be an interesting visit for any traveller.

New Delhi :

  • India Gate - India Gate is a stone arch that was built as a memorial to the Indian soldiers killed in the World War I. An eternal flame burns beneath the India Gate. This landmark has thousands of names engraved on it, it bears the names of over 90,000 soldiers.

  • Chandni Chowk - Chandni Chowk is Old Delhis main thoroughfare dedicated to shopping, trading and eating. Chandni Chowk is a massive area packed with shops, bazaars, and people. Its kind of crowded and an experience wading through the crowds, shops, narrow bylanes, cycle rickshaws, roadside eateries and heritage old world charm of the area (Red fort and Jama Masjid are also visited alongwith).

  • Jama Masjid Delhi - Jama Masjid of Delhi commissioned by the Mughal Emperor Shah Jahan in mid 17th century, is the largest and best-known mosque in India.

  • Red Fort (Lal Quila) - The Red Fort or Lal Qila was started in 1638 by Shah Jahan and completed in 1648. The Red Fort was the seat of Mughal power from 1639 to 1857.The red sandstone walls of the fort vary from 18m to 33m and the fort covers over 2 kilometers. This is UNESCO World heritage site

  • Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament house - Rashtrapati Bhavan (or Presidential House) is the official home of the President of India. It was built during the British Raj and was home of British Governor General of India till 1950 when President of India took it over. The Rashtrapati Bhavan is a large and vast mansion with four floors and has 340 rooms. Due to security reasons, one can only look at it from outside and take a few pictures. Parliament house is visited alongwith Rashtrapati Bhavan. Parliament house is an impressive structure that can only be looked from outside much like Rashtrapati Bhavan.

  • Humayuns Tomb - Humayuns Tomb is a lofty mausoleum set in a square garden. The tomb was constructed with white marble and red sandstone, and was designed as a prototype of the Taj Mahal in Agra. It is an excellent example of Mughal architecture. The tomb was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1993. Humayuns Tomb is one of the most visited monuments and has kind of become must visit. Isa Khans Tomb is a popular monument that is also visited alongwith.

  • Dilli Haat - A market where artisans from all over India have set up shop. Its an excellent one point stop for souvenirs and some genuine handicrafts.

  • Bahai Temple - Lotus Temple - The Bahai House of Worship in Delhi also popularly known as the Lotus Temple due to its flowerlike shape. It's spread over a large area with gardens around it and is a major tourist draw.

  • Qutab Minar - The Qutub Minar is a UNESCO world heritage site and was completed in the 13th C. The Qutub Minar rises over 230 feet in the air, has five stories and is covered with intricate carvings. The carvings feature the history of Qutub and inscriptions from the Koran. The Complex is also home to Imam Tamims Tomb and Alai Minar. There is a large garden around it as well for tourists to spend some time to marvel at the monument.

Ranthambhore :

  • Wildlife and Birdwatching in Ranthambhore - Ranthambhore is most visited park of Rajasthan. Its a relatively smaller park spread over 90 sq kms and accessed from Sawai Madhopur Station (12 kms) or Jaipur (180 kms). Ranthambore is best known for its large tiger population. Other major wild animals include leopard, nilgai, dhole, wild boar, sambar, hyena, sloth bear and chital. Sightings are Average for Tigers and Average to Good for other Mammals. Besides tigers, the reserve has bird population with more than 270 different species of birds.
