Gir (360 kms)  - Sasan Gir is a wildlife sanctuary known for Asiatic Lions and Birding.  Lion Safari Camp is a good riverside retreat. Amidhara Resort offers a swimming pool. Resorts offer park safaris by Jeep.  The Kamleshwar dam in the middle of the sanctuary is home to a record population of marsh crocodiles.  

Two nights Stay is generally sufficient for a tourist.

Access: Overnight Train to Veraval (70 kms from Gir) is a good option. It takes about 6-7 hours by Road.

Diu / Ahmedpur Mandvi (400 kms) - Diu , a union territory is the one of the best beach retreat from Ahmedabad.  Radhika Resort offers the best beach-front accommodation. Kohinoor offers similar accommodation with more facilities (Waterpark, Discotheque) but is located 4 kms from the Beach. Magico do Mar offers Watersports and a beach front cottage accommodation.

Access: Overnight Train to Veraval (90 kms from Diu ) is a good option. It takes about 6-7 hours by Road.
