The Tivoli Park was built in 1813 as a recreational park for the city's population. The park is set amidst rolling lush green hills, manicured lawns, and children's play area. The best way to explore the park is on bicycles that are available on rent in the park during summer. Tivoli Park is also home to the Museum of Modern History and the 17th century Tivoli Mansion.
Lujbljana is home to some charming bridges that span across the Ljubljanica River. Popular among them are the Triple Bridge and Dragon Bridge. The Triple Bridge is a pedestrian bridge located near the Preseren Square. The middle section of the bridge is believed to date back to 1842 while the two newer side bridges were designed by architect Joze Plecnik in 1931. It is these two side bridges that give the bridge a triangular look. The Dragon Bridge derives its name from the Greek story of Jason and Golden Fleece. According to the legend, it was here in the Ljubljanica River where a dragon lived and Jason slew it. The bridge is adorned with four bronze dragons that are believed to guard the bridge.

The highlight of the castle is the observatory tower that offers spectacular views of Ljubljana and the Julian Alps. The castle can be reached by foot, for the more adventurous, or by a furnicular railway that departs hourly from the Ljubljana Tourist Information Centre.
