Dresden's Zwinger Palace is famous around the world for its beautiful baroque architecture. It was built in 1709 during the reign of Augustus the Strong. The most photographed part of the Zwinger is The Crown Gate decorated with gods from Greek mythology. Don't miss the Nymphaeum, one of the finest baroque fountains in Germany. Be sure you simply do not miss the museum if you are a science freak. The objects one will find in the museum range from the oldest Arabic globe to burning mirror to Astronomical clock from the 16th century. It will leave you fascinated. Another near neighbour to Zwinger Palace is the Church of Our Lady. First erected between 1726 to 1743
    Historic Site
In 1697, when Augustus the Strong converted to Christianity such that he could become King of Poland, he used his own Royal Chapel for a while. He then decided a Catholic Church was to be built to counterbalance the protestant church. The Hofkirche, now known as the Cathedral of the Most Holy Trinity, is a Catholic oasis in Protestant Dresden. There are 78 statues, height of each of which more than 3 meters, on a roof of church.

The Brühl Terrace is one of the most popular places. The terraced promenade offers some beautiful architecture combined with magnificent views over the Elbe River. Enjoy a wonderful stroll through the promenade and the view of the city by the river. In the evening the view is even better with the heritage buildings illuminated and reflecting on the river.
    Lake or Riverside
Attracting more than six million visitors every year, Cologne Cathedral is one of Germany's most popular tourist attractions. The two church towers are the tallest dual spires in the world and offer fantastic views of the surrounding region. The church houses some of the most ancient artefacts and paintings that date back to the 14th century. Embellished with beautiful wood carvings and stain glass paintings, this gothic architectural building is one of the famous protestant churches in the world. The sandstone palace was built between 1710 and 1719 by the most famous architects during the time.
