Detailed Sightseeing

Innsbruck :

  • The Swarovski Crystal World - The Swarovski Crystal World, created by Andre Heller, is a pure invitation to dream. Only a 20 minutes drive away from Innsbruck this sparkling fantasy world is definitely worth a visit. In 1995, for the 100-year anniversary of Swarovski, the multi-media artist Andre Heller created a place of true amazement with 14 subterranean Chambers of Wonder. In 2003 and 2007 the so-called home of crystals became extended with new chambers. More than 8 million people have been enchanted by this world of experiences encompassing the full spectrum of art, music, dance and literature. This unique crystalline theatre is Austria's second most visited attraction, right after Schönbrunn Palace.

Salzburg :

  • Mozarts Geburtshaus - The Mozart family lived in Salzburg from 1747-1773, where W.A. Mozart himself was born on 27 January 1756. The house is now a popular museum devoted to Mozart with interesting memorabilia and letters. If you are a music enthusiast you must visit the "Mozart Residence" museum (similar times and prices) which holds a 'Pictures of Mozart' exhibition, containing portraits of the man, as well as portraits of doubtful provenance.

Venice :

  • Murano - Take a Motor launch ride down to one of the Lagoons a kilometre away from the main city to visit the famous glass factory of Italy. You can see how the artists create glass artefacts and purchase the ones that fascinate your eye.

  • Torcello Island - Torcello Island is a quaint sparsely populated island at the northern end of the Venetian Lagoon. The island is famous for being the oldest continuously populated region of Venice. The Basilica of Santa Maria Assunta is the most popular attraction of the lagoon.

  • Burano Island - One of the very scenic and vibrant places of Venice, Burano Island is a less crowded island with cartoonish colourful buildings. You can hire a Gondola if you have the budget and enjoy a ride through the canal adjacent to it. You can also enjoy a quiet walk along the canal and admire the picturesque view.

Vienna :

  • Schönbrunn Palace - If you are a lover of art, you are sure to love this place. At Schönbrunn the imperial family had 1,441 rooms to choose from, many of which are open to visitors. The Schlosspark contains a number of architectural masterpieces such as the Palm House and the zoo: the oldest zoo in the world which began in 1752 by Maria Theresa. She was known as the popular mother of the Austrian nation and was devoted to her husband: Emperor Franz I. She chose to be buried next to her husband in Stephan of Lorraine. Their tombs can be seen at the Habsburg burial crypt in the Kapuzinergruft.

Enjoy magnificent city views from the Salzach River on a sightseeing cruise throughout the day; a great way to discover Salzburg!

Vienna - Vienna is the capital and largest city of Austria and one of the access points to visit alpine destinations and Central / Eastern Europe. Vienna is art and cultural centre, home to many famous art galleries, museums, operas and concert halls, making it an excellent city break option.
