Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Depart for Sakleshpur – En route visit Devarunda Depart for Saklespur and en route visit Devarunda and visit the complex houses of the gods of Rameshwara, Veerabadreshwara, Byreshwara, Channakeshva, Parvati, Ganapathi, etc and arrive at Sakleshpur. Evening Bonfire.

Day-2 Day excursion at Sakleshpur Leave for day sightseeing of Betta Byreshwara Temple – Magajahalli waterfalls – Devalkere – Jenkal Gudda while enjoying the fresh mountain breeze, paddy fields, coffee plantations and the Western Ghats. Return in evening for the plantation tour.

Day-3 Depart for Hassan via Halebid - Belur  Depart for Hassan. En route visit the famous Belur and Halebid temples. Arrive by late evening.

Day-4 Visit temples before departure Visit Ramanathpur Temple, Gorur Dam, Shettihally Church and Mosale Hoysala Temple before departure.

Detailed Sightseeing

Hassan :

  • Mosale Temples - Mosale is set at 10 kms from Hassan. Mosale is home to 12th century Hoysala architecture temples. Temples here are dedicated to Nageshwara (Lord Shiva) and Chennakeshava (Lord Vishnu).

  • Shettihally Church - Shettihally Church was built by the French missionaries in 1860, the Shettihally Church was abandoned during the construction of a Hamavathi reservoir and now is submerged in the waters and seen during Summer when water is less. Its a popular spot for tourists to arrive for some photos.

  • Gorur Dam - Gorur Dam is set at 25 kms from Hassan. It is a dam constructed across River Hemavathi having two temples Yoganarasimha and Paravasudeva situated nearby. The dam is 58 meters in height, and 4600+ meters long forming a reservoir of 8500+ hectares.

  • Hoysaleshwar Temple Halebidu - Hoysaleswara temple is a 12th century Lord Shiva temple in Halebidu. Temple has been restored and is a major tourist attraction for its temple architecture. Visited by International traveller all round the year.

  • Chennakesava Temples Belur - The Chennakesava Temple is a riverside temple in Belur, erstwhile capital of the Hoysala Empire. Chennakesava is a form of Hindu God Vishnu and the temples are renowned for its temple architecture and visited all round the year by international travellers.,

  • Ramanathapura - Ramanathapura is one prominent pilgrimages of Karnataka. The town is set on River Cauvery and is also called "DAKSHINA KAASHI" or Kashi of the South. Prasanna Sri Subramanya Temple, Sri Rameshwara Temple, Sri Agasteshwara temple, Sri Pattabhi Rama Temple are some of the most prominent temples of Ramanathapura

  • Devarunda - Devarunda is a small village that is home to a 500 year old temple complex that houses temples of Rameshwara, Veerbhadreshwara, Bahireshwara, Parvati and Ganpati.

  • Jenkal Gudda - The Jenkal Gudda is the second highest peak in Karnataka and is also known as Hodachalli. Jenkal being calm, lush green and surrounded by thick forest and coffee estates makes this place worthy for treks. On a clear day from the top of Jenkal Gudda, one can spot Mangalore's coast of Arabian Sea.

Sakleshpur :

  • Magajahalli Waterfalls - Magajahalli waterfall is known for its 20 feet long cascading falls is just 1 km away from Magajahalli village. Post monsoon the waterfall is at its peak and a pleasant spot for picnickers.

  • Betta Byreshwara - Betta Byreshwara, a 600 year old ancient temple stands atop a hill overlooking the valley offering panoramic views of the Western Ghats from the temple.

  • Devarunda - Devarunda is a small village that is home to a 500 year old temple complex that houses temples of Rameshwara, Veerbhadreshwara, Bahireshwara, Parvati and Ganpati.
