Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Mysore. En route visit Srirangapatna Arrival at Mysore enroute visit Srirangapatna’s famous historical site, The Gumbaz (Tippu Sultan’s Tomb) and Sangama (confluence of the three tributaries of River Cauvery). In the evening, take a walk across famous Brindavan Garden and KRS Dam.

Day-2 Excursion in and around Mysore – Nagarahole Wildlife Park Proceed to Chamundi Hills, Mysore Zoo and Mysore Palace. In the afternoon, proceed to Nagarhole en route Wildlife Park(Nagarhole).

Day-3 Day tour to Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary and Nagarahole National Park Proceed for a full day tour of Tholpetty Wildlife Sanctuary Nagarhole National Park, Irupa falls, rivers and explore the surrounding hills.

Day-4 Departure Departure for onward journey.

Detailed Sightseeing

Mysore :

  • Mysore Palace - Mysore palace is one of the most famous tourist attractions in India after Taj Mahal with more than 2.7 million visitors. The architectural style of the palace is commonly described as Indo-Saracenic but it is a blend of many other architectural styles. The palace is surrounded by a large garden. The palace is 3 storied and entry fee is required to enter. Tourists are not allowed to take photographs inside the palace. Every autumn, the Palace is the venue for the famous Mysore Dasara festival with the elephant procession on Dussera day being the most sought after event.

  • Mysore Zoo - Mysore Zoo (officially the Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens) is a 245-acre zoo located near the palace in Mysore. It was established under royal patronage in 1892 making it one of the oldest zoos in the world. It is home to a wide range of species and one of the major tourist attractions.

  • Chamundeshwari Temple - The Chamundeshwari Temple is an ancient Devi temple (12th - 17th Century) located on the top of Chamundi Hills. The temple is impressive from an architectural sense and considered a pilgrimage destination being considered one of the 18 main Shaktipeetha temples.

  • Brindavan Gardens - Brindavan Garden is a large garden next to the Dam built on cauvery and a major tourist attraction. The main attraction of the park is the musical fountain in which bursts of water are synchronised to the music of songs. There is also a lake within the garden with boating facilities available for visitors

  • The Gumbaz - The Gumbaz is a mausoleum built by Tipu Sultan in Srirangapatna, as a tribute to his father Hyder Ali and later even his and his family members tombs were added to it. Gol Gumbaz is a fine piece of Islamic architectural style.

Nagarhole :

  • Nagarhole National Park - Nagarhole (popularly known as Kabini") represents one of the best park experiences in India. Coracle ride, elephant training camp visit & elephant ride, boat ride, Jeep safaris comprise some of the activities in and around the park area.

Nagarhole - Nagarhole (Or Rajiv Gandhi National Park) at 80 kms from Mysore is one of the best-managed parks in South India offering a very good park experience.
