Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Bangalore Arrive at Bangalore. International flights typically arrive late evening. Transfer to hotel and spend rest of the evening at the hotel.

Day-2 Travel to Mysore. Visit Mysore Palace After Breakfast, Travel to Mysore (150 kms - 3 hours), a popular stopover on heritage itineraries, renowned for Mysore Palace, a royal family residence renowned for its style and opulence and one of the most visited palaces in India. Note: On a Sunday it is a must to be around the palace around 7 PM when it is fully lit.

Day-3 Mysore Sightseeing / Excursions After Breakfast, take an excursion to Somnathpur Temple (50 kms - 1.5 hour) which require a short boat ride. Upon return travel via Srirangapatnam (15 kms from Mysore), renowned for Tipu Sultan's Palace. Later in the day visit St Philomenas Church (dated 1936) or visit Chamundi Hills for panoramic views of the Mysore city.

Day-4 Travel to Bandipur. Evening Safari After Breakfast proceed to Bandipur (80 kms - 1.5 hours). Bandipur is a wildlife destination renowned for its population of the Royal Bengal Tiger. Evening 4WD Jeep Safari at Bandipur.

Day-5 Morning and Evening Safari Morning and Evening 4WD Jeep Safari at Bandipur.

Day-6 Proceed to Kabini. Evening Safari After Breakfast proceed to Kabini (Nagarhole National Park), renowned for being one of the best park experiences in India and best park for sighting of Leopards. Evening 4WD Jeep Safari at Kabini.

Day-7 Morning Safari and Proceed to Coorg Morning 4WD Jeep Safari at Kabini and then after breakfast proceed to Coorg. Enroute visit Bylakuppe Tibetan Monastery. Coorg (2000-3500 ft asl) is renowned for its coffee plantations, elephant experience (Dubare), plantation walks / experiences and scenic drives.

Day-8 Explore Coorg After breakfast, proceed for visit to Dubare Elephant Reserve for elephant ride and where one has a chance to bathe, feed and interact with elephants. Return in afternoon.

Day-9 Plantation Experience at Coorg After breakfast, proceed for a walk in the plantation followed by Lunch. Guests interested in bird watching will be able to have excellent sighting. Plantation Lunch typically involves Coorg Cuisine that is totally different to cuisine of any other part of India and part of the overall experience.

Day-10 Travel to Hassan After Breakfast, Travel to Hassan (128 kms - 3 hours), a popular stopover to visit Halebid and Belur Temples (85 kms round trip from Hassan - renowned for its Hoysala era architecture).

Day-11 Travel to Bangalore for Departure Depart for Bangalore Airport (200 kms - 4.5 hours) for the International departure.

Detailed Sightseeing

Bandipur :

  • Wildlife and Bird watching at Bandipur - Bandipur forests with its deciduous habitat is the ideal spot for viewing animals like elephant, gaur, wild boar, sambhar. 200+ varieties of birds are spotted in the area especially in winter (Oct - March) such as Paradise Fly-Catcher, Hornbill, Woodpecker, Thrush, Crested Hawk Eagle etc. Jeep safaris are arranged by few lodges around the area.

Coorg (Madikeri) :

  • Dubare Elephant Camp - Dubare elephant camp is set across Cauvery river (A short boat ride required to access) near Kushalnagar. Here guests arrive for an elephant interaction (Bathing an elephant is most enjoyable for kids and adults) and enjoy elephant ride & coracle ride. There is a full day elephant interaction programme guest can opt for or just it can be just a visit.

  • Bylakuppe Buddhist Golden Temple - Bylakuppe is a tibetan settlement where an impressive monastery has been setup besides number of other monasteries, nunneries and temples in all the major Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Bylakuppe also has many buddhist universities for advanced buddhist practices.

Hassan :

  • Hoysaleshwar Temple Halebidu - Hoysaleswara temple is a 12th century Lord Shiva temple in Halebidu. Temple has been restored and is a major tourist attraction for its temple architecture. Visited by International traveller all round the year.

  • Chennakesava Temples Belur - The Chennakesava Temple is a riverside temple in Belur, erstwhile capital of the Hoysala Empire. Chennakesava is a form of Hindu God Vishnu and the temples are renowned for its temple architecture and visited all round the year by international travellers.,

Mysore :

  • Mysore Palace - Mysore palace is one of the most famous tourist attractions in India after Taj Mahal with more than 2.7 million visitors. The architectural style of the palace is commonly described as Indo-Saracenic but it is a blend of many other architectural styles. The palace is surrounded by a large garden. The palace is 3 storied and entry fee is required to enter. Tourists are not allowed to take photographs inside the palace. Every autumn, the Palace is the venue for the famous Mysore Dasara festival with the elephant procession on Dussera day being the most sought after event.

  • St Philomenas Church - St. Philomenas church in Mysore was constructed in 1936 using a Neo Gothic style and its architecture was inspired by the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. It still remains a tourist attraction.

  • Chamundeshwari Temple - The Chamundeshwari Temple is an ancient Devi temple (12th - 17th Century) located on the top of Chamundi Hills. The temple is impressive from an architectural sense and considered a pilgrimage destination being considered one of the 18 main Shaktipeetha temples.

  • Summer Palace of Tipu Sultan - Srirangapatna is home to summer palace of Tipu Sultan which has number of artefacts of Tipu Sultan display including his armory and his attire. Visited by guests enroute Brindavan gardens in evening.

  • Chennakesava Temple Somnathpura - The Chennakesava Temple is a 13th Century Lord Vishnu temple at Somanathapura near Mysore and is one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture. The temple is housed inside an impressive high wall and the entrance to the complex is through a porch with tall lathe-turned pillars. Somnathpura is an attraction for the travellers on the heritage circuit covering Mysore.

Nagarhole :

  • Nagarhole National Park - Nagarhole (popularly known as Kabini") represents one of the best park experiences in India. Coracle ride, elephant training camp visit & elephant ride, boat ride, Jeep safaris comprise some of the activities in and around the park area.

Destination Overview

Bandipur - Bandipur is located on the Mysor - Ooty route and is one of the renowned parks in South India known for their tiger sightings and excellent migratory bird population.

Nagarhole - Nagarhole (Or Rajiv Gandhi National Park) at 80 kms from Mysore is one of the best-managed parks in South India offering a very good park experience.

Coorg (Madikeri) - Madikeri (3500 ft asl) is the district headquarters of the Coorg region and also the highest point in the area. Madikeri offers guests nature centric experience and is a base point to explore the area.

Hassan - Hassan is an industrial town located mid-way between Mangalore and Bangalore and base point for guests to visit Halebid and Belur Temples, which are world known for their Hoysala era architecture.
