    Outside the old town lies the new city that is embellished with magnificent Venetian, neoclassic and modern buildings.     Enter the medieval township through the Gate of Freedom and be amazed by the fascinating medieval fort-like buildings, the bastions, high brick walls, number of gates, narrow streets, old houses and bustling squares that make u feel you have transformed in time. The Palace of the Grand Master is certainly the highlight of the Old Town. The Palace, originally a Byzantine fortress built at the end of the 7th century A.D. now it has been turned into a museum.

    The name means butterflies. It is one of the biggest and liveliest settlements on the island. The most fascinating and popular attraction of the region is the Valley of the Butterflies which is home to a habitat of unique Panaxia Quadripunctaria butterfly. Admire an atmosphere of unparalleled beauty with lush vegetation and streams as you stroll along the walkovers. Visit the Valley is the Museum of Natural History with your kids for an educational music.

    The island was one of the three major towns of ancient Rhodes thanks to its great naval power. Visit the watchtower facing the open sea built on a steep rock 116 metres above sea level to enjoy the stunning view. Visit the Byzantine churches the Byzantine chapel of AyiosIoannis and the castle of the Knights of Saint John if history is of your interest. Else, laze on the golden sand beach at Saint Paul's Bay or have a go at your favourite water sport! Don't forget to take your swimming trunks.
