This is a city where Christians, Jews and Arabs lived together in peace and harmony. Enjoy the ancient architecture dating back to the Renaissance era though narrow cobbled paths of the world-heritage city. Make sure you visit Europe's oldest synagogue Santa Maria La Blanca Synagogue. The city is a treasure trove of El Greco's artworks, the 16th-century master; especially The Burial of the Count of Orgaz, in the church of St Tome. Also visit the 13th century magnum opus of Gothic architecture in Spain: the Saint Mary of Toledo. Admire the high ceiling arches and the Gothic altarpiece which was one of the last pieces of Gothic architecture before the renaissance influence.
