    Cathedral of St Elizabeth is a beautiful Gothic church in Kosice and the largest church in Slovakia. The church is located in the heart of Kosice and can accommodate up to 5,000 people. The church houses a rare Gothic double spiral staircase, the crypt of Francis II Rákószi and a sundial from 1477. The church's 60-metre high northern tower offers spectacular views of the town and is well worth the climb.

    Located at 30 minutes from Kosice in Jasov, the Jasov Monastery and caves are an architectural and natural wonder. The monastery and the Church of John the Baptist are built in the Late Baroque style and is considered as one of the most important Baroque buildings in Slovakia. The monastery has 365 windows representing the number of days in the year, 12 chimneys representing the twelve months of the year and 4 doors representing the four seasons. The Jasov caves are UNESCO World Heritage listed stalactite caves located in Jasov. Archaeological discoveries from the Paleolithic, Neolithic and Hallstatt period have been made in the caves.

    Spis Castle is a 12th century UNESCO World Heritage castle located at one hour from Kosice. The castle is one of the largest castles in central Europe and is situated on a travertine hill near the town of Spisske Podhradie. The castle was reconstructed by Stefan Zapolsky in the 15th century. In 1780 the castle compound was destroyed in a fire gradually leading to the decay of the castle. The castle was completely restored in 1970. The castle is home to a museum exhibiting the history of the castle and medieval arms.
