Murudeshwar Beach is characterised by a huge towering statue of Lord Shiva, part of the Murudeshwar temple complex. It is the third highest statue of Lord Shiva in the world. This is build on a rock face and is nothing short of a man made wonder. The temple adjacent to the statue is also equally imposing that includes a 20-storied 237 ft tall Gopura.
