Mt Cook national park is home to Mount Cook mountain which is New Zealand's highest mountain at 3,753 metres. Apart from tall peaks, the national park is covered by glaciers. The park has a variety of indigenous and rare fauna and flora. This is also a popular stopover on the Queenstown - Christchurch driving route.
