Lonar Crater is recognized as an impact crater created by the impact of either a comet or a meteorite. Crater is now a large lake around which many temples having a heritage character located. e.g. Daitya Sudan Temple, a Vishnu temple built between the 6th and 12th centuries. Lake is a haven for a wide range of plant and animal life and considered excellent for Bird watching.
