Hofburg Imperial Palace serves as the official residence of the President of Austria. It was the Habsburg Empire's principal winter residence, while Schönbrunn Palace was their preferred summer residence. From 1438 to 1583, 1612 to 1806 and 1918 thereafter, the palace observed the seat of the kings and emperors that ruled the territory. You will observe the architecture as more roman and gothic and less Austrian by itself as the Roman Empire initially ruled the country after which the Emperor of Austria took over from 1918.
