Gingee Fort is one of the few forts in Tamil Nadu. It was one of the most impregnable forts (with 20 meter walls) and therefore still visited by heritage travellers. The Gingee Fort complex is on three hillocks Krishnagiri, Rajagiri and Chandrayandurg set on a height of 800+ ft asl and spread over 7 sq kms. There are number of monuments within the fort that are still standing and worth a visit.
