Coorg (also known as Kodagu) is a region in South-West of Karnataka known for its Coffee and Spice Plantations. Coorg is situated 2000 - 3500 ft above sea level and enjoys pleasant weather throughout the year. The region receives moderate rainfall all through the year and therefore visited even during monsoon. The region is known for its unique cuisine, culture and plantation resorts and homestays.

All experience oriented guests love the plantation feel, plantation trails, walks, trekking, fishing, rafting, bicycling / driving are different possibilities. Guests can enjoy an elephant ride at the Dubare Elephant Sanctuary, visit the Abbey Waterfalls and the Tibaten monastery nearby at Kushalnagar.

Cuisine: Plantation homestays serve Kodagu Cuisine, which is the ethnic cuisine full of local spices. Kodagus eat a lot of non-veg (chicken, mutton and pork) and that shows in their specialties. However, Kodagu cuisine also has a very extensive vegetarian fare.

Plantations homestays has made coorg famous for its plantation experience and therefore a favorite as a weekend getaway option from Bangalore.
