Glenburn Tea Estate is an experiential plantation retreat at an hour drive from Darjeeling that lies on a hillock above the banks of the River Rungeet, high in the Himalayas, overlooked by the mighty Kanchenjunga mountain range.

Glenburn Tea Estate offers suite accommodation that’s a comprehensive colonial heritage stay experience. Meals comprise local fare and traditional Indian dishes, to exotic South-East Asian delicacies, and a variety of European dishes. Family recipes including Tea-Leaf Pakoras, Chocolate Brownies, Tibetan Momos and Burmese Khow Suey.

Glenburn Tea Estate has evolved from just being a heritage retreat to one that offers a complete experiential stay. Experience here comprise

Tea Experience – half – day / full day – Driving through estate and . Enjoy the multitude of bird life, butterflies and flora that add to the diverse landscape that makes up a tea estate. Visit tea factory, tea tasting etc.

Camping - The Glenburn Lodge and Campsite offers a rustic yet comfortable experience in the middle of the wilderness. The Lodge offers accommodation for two families, with its two spacious rooms each with an attached bathroom. Both rooms offer spectacular views of the forest, river and Sikkim on the opposite bank. Kerosene lanterns are used to light up the Lodge at night. Barbeques can also be organized, and a bonfire is always a popular option. Cormorants, wild geese and hornbills are just a few of the birds here.

Hiking – There are half a dozen hiking / soft trekking routes that require half – day (4 –5 hours of walking / hiking). Winter is the best season for Himalayan views.

Fishing - A typical day of fishing at Glenburn will include a hike, picnic and transport. River Rangeet is source for Rainbow trouts and a must for angling enthusiasts.

Other experiences include Cookery, White water rafting and a Spa.
