Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Kanatal Arrive at Kanatal by late afternoon. Kanatal (7500+ ft asl), is a renowned himalayan hamlet offering excellent Himalayan views and an all - season destination offering excellent nature centric experience.

Day-2 Exploring around Kanatal Guests with a bit of exploratory intent can opt for a Jeep drive around OR visit Dhanaulti Ecopark. Honeymooners can also do a bit of walking in the forests around the area.

Day-3 Mussoorie excursion Proceed to Mussoorie (6500+ ft asl, 32 kms - 1 hr one way), popular (and hence crowded) hill station. Guests have option to viist Waterfalls, temples OR can take a stroll on Mall road. Anternatively guests can spend time exploring area around Kanatal further or spend time relaxing.

Day-4 Kanatal - Rishikesh Travel to Rishikesh (2000 ft asl - 65 kms - 2 hours). Rishikesh is a Ganga riverside destination, renowned for its riverside and spirituality experiences that it offers. Visit to Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Rishikund and other Ghat areas of Rishikesh or just enjoy riverside character of the area.

Day-5 In and around Rishikesh OR White water rafting / Adventure at Rishikesh OR Visit to Rajaji National Park Guests can opt for White water rafting (Half day) or visit adventure sports centre here that offer Bungee Jumping or opt for a a Visit to Rajaji National Park (Park Closes April 16th onwards. Rajaji is considered excellent for bird watching) OR visit Neelkanth Mahadev (30 kms - 1 hour one way) OR do a day visit of Haridwar temples (evening Arti at Har Ki Pauri is recommended) OR just sit back and enjoy riverside character of Rishikesh.

Day-6 Rishikesh - Rajaji National Park Rishikesh - Rajaji National Park (50 kms - 2 hours). Rajaji National park offers riverside premium stays that offer complete nature centric experience and the park is renowned for bird watching and overall park experience. Enjoy riverside experience and / or walk around the area.

Day-7 Rajaji National Park visit Jeep Safari to Rajaji National Park. In the evening guests can do a day visit to Haridwar visiting temples there.

Day-8 Departure After breakfast depart for onward journey.

Rajaji National Park :

  • Wildlife and Bird Watching in Rajaji National Park - Rajaji National Park is one that is visited ex-Haridwar (25 kms) / Rishikesh (40 kms). 23 species of mammals are found in Rajaji National Park alongwith 315 species of birds. Jeep Safaris are conducted here by the forest department.

Rishikesh :

  • Triveni Ghat - Evening aarti is performed at Triveni Ghat. Ashes of the dead and ceremonies related to Shradh are performed here. Triveni is also a bathing Ghat where pilgrims take a dip in holy Ganga River.

  • Rishikund - Rishikund is a holy pond and where Shani temple is situated. Rishikund is a popular pilgrim visit option.

  • Ram Jhula - Ram Jhula is a bigger and more picturesque than Lakshman Jhula but surprisingly lesser known. It leads to a few known Ashrams in the area.

  • Lakshman Jhula - Lakshman Jhula (1939) is a 450 ft hanging rope bridge on river ganges near Tapovan area in Rishikesh. It connects guests arriving on the other side of the river to the bathing ghats area. Its believed at this place Lakshman (Brother of Lord Rama) build a jute bridge to cross over the river and therefore the spot is also considered holy. A five storey temple is built on the other side of the bridge.

  • Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh - Jumping Heights, an adventure company offers Bungee Jumping and other adventure facilities enroute Neelkanth Mahadev temple at about 20 kms from Rishikesh. This is first of its kind facility in India having Jump of about 80 meters. Other activities comprise Flying fox.

  • Neelkanth Mahadev - Lord Shiva temple at 30 kms from Rishikesh, set on a hill offering good views. This is the place where Lord Shiva is believed to have drank the venom produced during Sagar Manthan

  • White Water Rafting - Rishikesh is very popular for its rafting on the River Ganga (Ganges). Season: September-November and March-April-May are ideal for rafting. Camps are set up between Mid-Sept and Mid-May by the river that facilitate rafting. Camps here conduct half day and full day rafting with Class III and Class IV Rapids with a lunch break in between.
