Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrival at Rishikesh Arrival at Rishikesh (2000 ft asl). Rishikesh is a Ganga riverside destination, renowned for its riverside and spirituality experiences that it offers. Visit to Ram Jhula, Laxman Jhula, Triveni Ghat, Rishikund and other Ghat areas of Rishikesh or just enjoy riverside character of the area.

Day-2 In and around Rishikesh OR White water rafting / Adventure at Rishikesh OR Visit to Rajaji National Park Guests can opt for White water rafting (Half day) or visit adventure sports centre here that offer Bungee Jumping or opt for a a Visit to Rajaji National Park (Park Closes April 16th onwards. Rajaji is considered excellent for bird watching) OR visit Neelkanth Mahadev (30 kms - 1 hour one way) OR do a day visit of Haridwar temples (evening Arti at Har Ki Pauri is recommended) OR just sit back and enjoy riverside character of Rishikesh.

Day-3 Rishikesh - Kanatal Travel to Kanatal (75 kms - 2 hours). Kanatal (7500+ ft asl), is a renowned himalayan hamlet offering excellent Himalayan views and an all - season destination offering excellent nature centric experience. Enroute visit Dhanaulti Eco Park. Enjoy views and himlayan hamlet character of the area.

Day-4 Exploring around Kanatal Guests with a bit of exploratory intent can opt for a Jeep drive around OR visit Dhanaulti Ecopark. Honeymooners can also do a bit of walking in the forests around the area.

Day-5 Mussoorie excursion Proceed to Mussoorie (6500+ ft asl, 32 kms - 1 hr one way), popular (and hence crowded) hill station. Guests have option to visit Waterfalls, temples OR can take a stroll on Mall road. Anternatively guests can spend time exploring area around Kanatal further or spend time relaxing.

Day-6 Departure Depart for onward journey.

Detailed Sightseeing

Kanatal :

  • Eco Park Dhanaulti - It is the main attraction of Dhanaulti. There are two Eco-parks, "Amber" and "Dhara" about 200 m apart. It has been developed recently by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand

Rishikesh :

  • Triveni Ghat - Evening aarti is performed at Triveni Ghat. Ashes of the dead and ceremonies related to Shradh are performed here. Triveni is also a bathing Ghat where pilgrims take a dip in holy Ganga River.

  • Rishikund - Rishikund is a holy pond and where Shani temple is situated. Rishikund is a popular pilgrim visit option.

  • Ram Jhula - Ram Jhula is a bigger and more picturesque than Lakshman Jhula but surprisingly lesser known. It leads to a few known Ashrams in the area.

  • Lakshman Jhula - Lakshman Jhula (1939) is a 450 ft hanging rope bridge on river ganges near Tapovan area in Rishikesh. It connects guests arriving on the other side of the river to the bathing ghats area. Its believed at this place Lakshman (Brother of Lord Rama) build a jute bridge to cross over the river and therefore the spot is also considered holy. A five storey temple is built on the other side of the bridge.

  • Bungee Jumping in Rishikesh - Jumping Heights, an adventure company offers Bungee Jumping and other adventure facilities enroute Neelkanth Mahadev temple at about 20 kms from Rishikesh. This is first of its kind facility in India having Jump of about 80 meters. Other activities comprise Flying fox.

  • Neelkanth Mahadev - Lord Shiva temple at 30 kms from Rishikesh, set on a hill offering good views. This is the place where Lord Shiva is believed to have drank the venom produced during Sagar Manthan

  • White Water Rafting - Rishikesh is very popular for its rafting on the River Ganga (Ganges). Season: September-November and March-April-May are ideal for rafting. Camps are set up between Mid-Sept and Mid-May by the river that facilitate rafting. Camps here conduct half day and full day rafting with Class III and Class IV Rapids with a lunch break in between.

Dehradun - Dehradun is capital city of Uttaranchal State (Now "Uttarakhand") and therefore visited by business traveler. Its an access point to many destinations in the area including Mussoorie, Kanatal, Chamba etc. Dehradun is home to some getaway resorts and destination spas as well.

Rishikesh - Rishikesh is a situated on the banks of River Ganges (Ganga) and staying on the banks of the River and a base point to visit many destinations around the area including Rajaji National Park, It is also access point to Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri and Yamunotri (known collectively as the Chaar Dham).

Kanatal - Kanatal (8500 ft), one of the well-known spots in Uttaranchal, is located on the Mussoorie - Chamba route. Kanatal is where guests arrive for a idyllic getaway, activities and a Himalayan experience.
