Haridwar :

  • Pawan Dham - Pawan Dham is a large Ashram complex and popular tourist destination. The complex was constructed by the effort of Swami Vedantanand Ji Maharaj.

  • Har ki Pauri - Hark Ki Pauri (also known as Brahmakund) is where evening Arti is conducted and the Arti is nothing short of a spiritual experience for even a non-hindu or a non-pilgrim. Its kind of a crowded area and gets even more crowded once every 12 years when Kumbh Mela is held here.

  • Mansa Devi Temple Haridwar - Mansa Devi Temple is a Siddh Peetha which are the places of worship where desires get fulfilled. It is one of three such Peethas located in Haridwar, the other two being Chandi Devi Temple and Maya Devi Temple. The temple also known as Bilwa Tirth is one of the Panch Tirth (Five Pilgrimages) within Haridwar.

  • Chandi Devi Temple - Chandi Temple (1929) is a Siddha Peeth devi temple at 3 kms uphill on Chandi Ghat. Its one of the most visited temples in Haridwar. Pilgrims can also take Cable car to Chandi Devi Temple.

Expert Speak

Haridwar wears a typical pilgrim centre character. Areas around Hari-Ki-Pauri and around Ram Ghat are extremely crowded. Guests looking to be away from these elements could look at a riverside stay near Rishikesh for a riverside experience. Guests looking to avoid touristy elements of Mussoorie and looking for a quiet time and tranquility could look at Kanatal (32 kms) as an alternative.
