Day-1 Haridwar - Kund Arrive Haridwar and transfer to Kund (195 kms - 5.5 hrs). Kund (6000+ ft asl) is a riverside hamlet enroute to Kedarnath and in close proximity to Chopta (renowned for its meadows). The drive initially is along the Ganga and then Alaknanda & Mandakini to reach Kund. Time permitting, evening walk for a short distance to the Ukhimath temple OR spend time next to the river.
Day-2 Adventure activities around Kund One can either opt for activities like cycling, rock climbing, rappelling, bridge slithering, Jumaring & valley traverse or do sightseeing OR can do Sightseeing at Guptkashi, Kalimath & Narayan Swamy temple complex. One can also take an option of taking a helicopter ride and visiting Kedarnath. Late evening enjoy bonfire and dinner.
Day-3 Deoriatal Lake Trek Travel to Sari village and from there is a trek or take a horse ride for about 2 kms to reach the spectacular lake, Deoriatal. The lake with meadows around it is surrounded by forests and mountain ranges. Return by evening.
Day-4 Kund - Auli Leave for Chopta (approx 1 hour). Chopta is considered as the "Mini Switzerland of India". From here one could head off on short trek or pony ride to the Shiva shrine at Tungnath (3680m). After taking a short rest climb down to Chopta. After lunch and depart for Auli (8000+ ft asl), a destination renowned for skiing and sporting excellent close range himalayan views all round the year.
Day-5 Chopta - Tungnath Visit and Drive to Auli Drive to Badrinath (9000+ ft asl - 50 kms - 1 hour). Badrinath is a renowned Lord Vishnu Pilgrim centre and one of the Char Dhams. Badrinath is also blessed with stunning Himalayan backdrop. While at Badrinath also visit the Tapt Kund, Narayan Kund, Mata Murty temple, Bhim Pul, etc. and also visit Mana village (the last temple on the Indian border). In Mana, where you can shop for some local handicrafts and handmade woollen items OR can stay back and enjoy the wonderful locales of Auli OR start hiking/pony ride and cross the forest over Auli and get on to the Gorson meadows, an awe inspiring view point. One can also enjoy a ride in the Ski lifts at Auli.
Day-6 Auli - Jayalgarh "After an early lunch drive for about 4-5 hours to get to Jayalgarh (175 kms - 5 hrs). Jayalgarh is set on the banks of river Alaknanda and has open views of a few villages set scenically in the nearby mountains.
Day-7 Jayalgarh - Rishikesh - Haridwar Enjoy an exciting rafting trip. Along with rafting one can also try river swimming, body surfing & cliff jumping. Depart for Haridwar (115 kms -3-4 hrs). Enroute stopover at Rishikesh for a visit of the Lakshman Jhoola and other important ghats and ashrams. Proceed to Haridwar and set off to see Har-ki-Pauri for Evening Ganga Aarti.
Day-8 Departure Depart for onward journey.
Kund - Kund is a riverside area 20 kms Short of Guptkashi in the Mandakini Valley offering view of the snow clad Kedar peak that forms the backdrop of the Kedarnath temple. Besides Kedarnath, number of other temples like Tungnath (the highest Shiva shrine), Madhyamaheshwar, Triyuginarayan, Guptkashi, Ukhimath, etc. can be approached from here.
Auli - Auli is a Ski resort, one of the highest in the word located at about 50 km from Badrinath and accessible by a cable car ride and also by Road (during Summers and monsoon period) from Joshimath.
Kirtinagar - Kirtinagar is riverside (Alaknanda, tributory of Ganga) transit point at 100 Km from Rishikesh enroute to Badrinath & Kedarnath Shrines, Hemkund Sahib & Auli.
Haridwar - Haridwar is situated on the banks of River Ganges (Ganga) and staying on the banks of the River and visiting various temples and Ghats is considered a spiritual experience.
