Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrival at Bhubaneshwar. Visits to Temples in Bhubaneshwar. Arrival at Bhubaneshwar. Bhubaneshwar is capital city of Orissa and a heritage destination home to many temples that have heritage and architectural significance. Visits to Lingaraja Temple (Impressive 11th Century Temple) and Brahma Temple. Visit Bindu Sagar, lake around Linga Raja Temple and Brahma Temple. Visit Vaital Devi Temple near Bindu Sagar, a Chamunda Devi Temple in the form of Tantric Goddess. Visit Raj Rani Temple is an 11th century ancient temple and renowned for its architecture.

Day-2 Excursion to Nandankanan Zoo. Travel to Puri Via Konark. Evening Visit to Jagannath Temple and Puri Beach. Morning Excursion to Nandankanan Zoo (25 kms), a nature park renowned for its White Tiger Population. From there proceed Puri and enroute viist Konark Sun Temple (A UNESCO World Heritage Site). In the evening visit Jagannath Temple Complex at Puri and visit the Puri Beach. Return to Bhubaneshwar by evening.

Day-3 Departure. Depart for onward Journey.

Bhubaneswar :

  • Raja Rani Temple - Raj Rani Temple is an 11th century ancient temple and renowned for its architecture. There is no presiding deity and therefore no pujas are offered here.

  • Lingaraja Temple - Impressive 11th-century Shiva temple and a well-visited temple for its architecture and its pilgrimage significance.

  • Brahma Temple - Rare Brahma Temple on Bindusagar near Lingaraja temple.

  • Bindu Sagar - A holy tank near Brahma temple and Lingaraja temple visited as part of the pilgrimage circuit.

  • Vaital Deul Temple - Vaital Deul Temple is a eight century temple situated near Bindu Sarovar where main deity is Chamunda, the Tantric form of Goddess Durga.

  • Nandankanan Zoo - Nandankanan Zoo is about 15 km from Bhubaneswar towards Cuttack and is home to White Tigers and a range of other species of animals.

  • Jagannath Puri Temple Complex - Jagannath Temple is established in the 12th century and is one of the major pilgrim centres in India. The main temple of Jagannath is an impressive structure constructed in Kalinga architecture, with a height of 65 meters. There are number of temples are a part of the temple complex. Kanchi Ganesha Temple, Narasingha Temple (11th Century. 58 high), Vimala Temple (13th Century. 60" high), Lakshmi Temple (12th Century), Surya Temple (17th Centuty and 63" high),Mukti Mandap (1578 AD, 16 pillared temple) etc are temples that are visited by the pilgrims.

  • Konark Sun Temple - Konark Sun Temple is a 13th century Sun Temple. The temple is one of the most renowned temples in India and is a World Heritage Site. It is considered one of the Seven heritage Wonders of India. The Sun Temple, built in the thirteenth century, was conceived as a gigantic chariot of the Sun God, with twelve pairs of exquisitely ornamented wheels pulled by seven horses. Quite a bit is still intact and therefore a delight for any heritage traveller.
