Day-1 Arrive at Kaziranga. Evening Safari in Eastern Range. Arrive at Guwahati and Proceed to Kaziranga (225 kms - 4.5 hrs). Kaziranga is is a renowned Wildlife Destination and is visited for the Wildlife and Bird watching Experience it offers. One can spot one-horned Rhinos and wide ranging migratory Birds (Tiger population is healthy but not sighted as easily as other parks in Central India). Evening Jeep Safari in Kaziranga.
Day-2 Morning Elephant Safari and Evening Jeep Safari in Kaziranga Early morning elephant safari and post lunch can visit to handloom center, craft village. Evening Jeep safari in Western Range of Kaziranga.
Day-3 Proceed to Jorhat for a Plantation Bungalow stay. Arrive at Jorhat (90 kms - 2.5 hours) and drive to one of the plantation bungalows around Jorhat (15-20 kms). Jorhat is a tea plantation hub of Assam and renowned for its colonial era plantation bungalows. Enjoy heritage character of the bungalow and take walks around to experience the plantation character of the area.
Day-4 Take a Boat to Majuli Island. Walk around Majuli visiting Satras. Arrive at Majuli via a boat ride. Majuli has been the cultural capital of Assam since the 16th century and today is one of the largest Riverine islands in the world. Majuli is now visited for its Satras (monasteries and hermitages). Majuli is visited from Jorhat (35 kms) and accessible via a boat ride. The area is also a bird watchers paradise (Nov - March). There are number of craft centres here that are excellent in Mask makng and Pottery.
Day-5 Day visit to Gibbon Sanctuary Visit Hollongapar Gibbon Wildlife sanctuary, more popularly known as Gibbon Wildlife Sanctuary lies near Jorhat (19 kms). The primate community of Gibon Wildlife Sanctuary consists of four species of macaques, one species each of langur, gibbon and loris. There are more than 200 varieties of Birds found in the area.
Day-6 Departure Depart for onward journey.
Guwahati - Guwahati on the Brahmaputra River is the largest city in the North-East Region of India. It is a gateway to neighboring state of Meghalaya / Arunachal Pradesh and from where Wildlife sanctuaries and tea plantations in Assam are accessible.
Kaziranga - Declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1985, Kaziranga is internationally renowned for its one - horned rhinoceros population and one of the best national parks in India for sighting Wildlife and birds.
Jorhat - Jorhat is base town for many a plantations around the area and from where Gibbon Sanctuary and Majuli Island are accessed.
