Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Guwahati. Proceed to Shillong. Arrive at Guwahati and proceed to Shillong (130 kms - 3 hrs). Enroute visit Umiam Lake. If time permits visit Cathedral of Marry and Ward’s Lake. Evening take a walk at Police Bazaar for shopping

Day-2 Day Excursion to Cherrapunjee. Drive to Cherrapunjee, the wettest place on the earth, for an awesome day trip. En route visit the famous Elephant Falls and Shillong Peak - to enjoy a bird’s eye view of Shillong city. At Sohra, stop at the Duwan Sing Syiem view point for mesmerizing views of the Hills. In Cherrapunjee be witness to the gorgeous Seven Sisters Falls and Nohkalikai Falls. Later take a soft cave walk inside the Mawsmai Cave. The limestone cave is a natural wonder with innumerable formations inside it. After lunch at Cherrapunjee, visit Thankarang Park. Drive back to Shillong.

Day-3 Proceed to Kaziranga Proceed to Kaziranga (252 kms - 6 hrs). Kaziranga is is a renowned Wildlife Destination and is visited for the Wildlife and Bird watching Experience it offers. One can spot one-horned Rhinos and wide ranging migratory Birds (Tiger population is healthy but not sighted as easily as other parks in Central India).

Day-4 Morning Elephant Ride and Central Zone Safari. Early morning elephant ride in central range. Follow it up with Central Zone Safari. Return by Lunch time and then do local visits in Kaziranga. Those interested in Bird watching can do an Eastern Zone safari in afternoon.

Day-5 Travel back to Guwahati. Visit Kamakhya Temple Proceed to Guwahati (200 kms - 4 hours). Visit to Kamakhya Temple (Shaktipeetha). Time permitting visit other temples in the area such as Bhubaneswari Temple, Bagalamukhi, Chinnamasta, Tripura Sundari, Tara, Kali, Bhairavi, Dhumavati, Matangi and Kamala Temples.

Day-6 Departure Depart from Guwahati for onward journey.

Guwahati :

  • Kamakhya Temple - The Kamakhya Temple is a Shakti Peeth temple situated in western part of Guwahati. It is an important Hindu pilgrimage destination and also visited by Tantric worshipers.

Kaziranga :

  • Kaziranga National Park - Kaziranga is the biggest reserve in Assam and one of the best wildlife experiences in whole of India. Main Attraction of Kaziranga is one-horned rhinos. Kaziranga is also home to a large number of birds like crested serpant eagle, Fishing Eagles, Pelicans, Bengal Floricans, Jungle Fowl, Black naked stork etc.Kaziranga covers 430 sq kms and it consists of three ranges viz. Kohora Range, Bagori Range and Agaratoli Range. Kaziranga is one of the few parks where Elephant safaris are conducted.

Shillong :

  • Wards Lake and Botanical Garden - Wards Lake is a century old picturesque lake located in the heart of the city, popular for short garden walks and boating. Botanical Garden is located just below the Wards Lake which is home to indigenous and exotic plants and colourful species of birds.

  • Elephant Falls Shillong - Elephant Falls are located 12 kms on the outskirts Shillong where the mountain stream descends through two successive falls set in dells of fern covered rocks.

  • Umiam Lake - Umiam Lake is a reservoir located in the hills 15 km to the North of Shillong. The lake serves as a major tourist attraction for the state of Meghalaya. It is also a popular destination for water sport and adventure facilities such as kayaking, water cycling, scooting and boating.

  • Nohkalikai Falls - Nohkalikai Falls is the tallest plunge waterfall in India (340 meters). The waterfall is located near Cherrapunji and is a popular tourist attraction especially in monsoon and early winters.

  • Seven Sisters Falls - Nohsngithiang Falls (also known as the Seven Sisters Waterfalls) is a seven-segmented waterfall near Cherrapunjee (315 meters and 70 meters wide). It is one of the tallest waterfalls in India and therefore a popular tourist attraction all through the year.
