Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Kashid. Evening Visit to the beach for watersports Arrive at Kashid. Kashid (130 kms - 3.5 hours) is an idyllic 3 km stretch of beach and a popular beach getaway ex-Mumbai / Pune. Kashid beach is home to many watersports and adventure activities (Waterscooers, Banana Boat ride, ATV ride etc.). Visit the beach in the evening for a walk, swimming and some watersports.

Day-2 Morning Visit to Murud Janjira Fort and Nandgaon Temple. Evening visit the beach again Visit Murud Janjira (15 kms), a beachside destination renowned for its Seafort which can be visited via a ferry ride. Enroute guests can also visit Nandgaon Ganesh Temple. Evening visit to the Kashid beach again for a walk, swimming and watersports.

Day-3 Proceed to Chiplun. Enroute Visit Birla Ganesh Temple.  Proceed to Chiplun (200 kms - 5 hours). Chiplun is a riverside getaway on National highway 66 overlooking the river. Visit Gowalkot Fort, Ancient Fort of Shivaji Maharaj located on top of a small hill bank opposite Vashisthi River Jetty offering good views. Guests arriving via NH-66 may visit Koyna Reservoir (45 kms).

Day-4 Guhagar Beach Excursion. Visit Velneshwar and Hedvi Temples Guhargar Beach Excursion (42 kms). Guhagar is an idyllic beach nearest to Chiplun and around which many temples such as Velneshwar Temple and Hedvi Ganesh Temple are located.

Day-5 Proceed to Mahabaleshwar. Enroute visit Tapola Lake. Evening visit to Panchgani. Proceed to Mahabaleshwar (110 kms - 3 hours). Mahabaleshwar (4500 ft asl) is a hill station in Maharashtra, renowned for its Strawberries in Winter, Salibrious climate all round the year and being a family centric holiday destination. Guests have an option to visit Tapola Lake enroute. In the afternoon visit twin hill station of Panchgani. Enroute visit Venna Lake and do some boating. At Panchgani, visit Table Top point and Mapro Jam Factory. Families with kids may look to visit Sherbaug Amusement park and On Wheelz Entertainment centre.

Day-6 Mahabaleshwar Sightseeing Guests may do a bit of walking around Mahabaleshwar or do a horse ride on the trails around Mahabaleshwar. There are many view points like any hill station in Mahabaleshwar such as Wilson Point, Kates Point, Arthurs Seat and Elephant head point for guests to visit. During winter visit a strawberry farm. In the evening visit local markets for shopping. Guests with interest in Fort heritage of Maharashtra may visit Pratapgarh Fort (20 kms) and guests with interest in visiting old temples may visit Mahabaleshwara Temple in Kshetra Mahabaleshwar Area (10 kms).

Day-7 Departure Depart for onward Journey.

Detailed Sightseeing

Chiplun :

  • Gowalkot Fort - Gowalkot is an island at 10 kms from Chiplun surrounded by the Vashishti River and accessible via a small boat ride. There is a fort (dated year 1690) atop the island and is a popular spot for a short trek offering excellent views of the river and the area around.

  • Guhagar Beach - Guhagar is an idyllic beach at 42 kms from Chiplun having many homestays around.

  • Hedvi Ganesh Temple - Hedvi Ganesh temple is a quait Lord Ganesha temple near Hedvi Beach at 22 kms from Guhagar.

  • Velneshwar Temple - Velneshwar is a coastal village and home of an old Shiva temple. Velneshwar is popularly visited as part of the Coastal temple itinerary.

Kashid :

  • Watersports at Kashid Beach - One of the best beaches South of Mumbai having a 3 km stretch. The touristy end has guest houses, shops and many activities for day tourists. Watersports such as Banana Boat ride, water scooter etc are on offer on weekends alongwith Quad bike ride.

  • Siddhivinayak Temple Nandgaon - Lord Ganesha temple in coastal town of Nandgaon few kms ahead of Kashid on Kashid - Murud Janjira Road. Temple is very popular and well visited all through the year.

  • Birla Ganesh Temple - A white granite Lord Ganesha temple in the premises of Vikram Ispat. Temple is visited by tourists, pilgrims and locals all through the year.

  • Murud Janjira Sea Fort - Murud Janjira fort is a 16th Century Sea Fort (Now in ruins) set a few kms off Murud Janjira beach and accessible via a local ferry ride. The Fort has not been maintained but still remains popular for a visit. When sea turns rough, the boat ride is nothing short of an adventure.

Mahabaleshwar :

  • Horse Riding in Mahabaleshwar - Horse riding is a popular activity in Mahabaleshwar. Horses are available for hire near Lake or outside many prominent hotels. Guests prefer to ride alongside walking trails around Mahabaleshwar.

  • Wilson Point - Wilson Point is the highest point in Mahabaleshwar at 4500+ ft asl. Wilson point is the only location in Mahabaleshwar where both sunrise and sunset can be seen. It offers a excellent top view of Mahabaleshwar. Wilson Point is standard sightseeing

  • Venna Lake - Venna Lake is where like any typical hill station in India, has guest arriving for a bit of boating and horse riding.

  • Strawberry Farm Visit - Strawberry farms are situated all around Mahabaleshwar, most prominently on Mahabaleshwar - Panchgani Road. Its possible to visit them or just enjoy Strawberry crush / shake served by the stalls around them. Strawberry season is Jan - March. Besides Strawberries other fruits cultivated include Mulberry, Blue berry and raspberries.

  • Kates Point - Kates point is located to the east of Mahabaleshwar and is renowned for its view of two reservoirs from here. Kates point visit is part of standard sightseeing done by Toursts Cabs in Mahabaleshwar. Needle hole point is located near Kates Point. One can see a natural rock formation with a hole in between, thus giving the name Needle-hole

  • Mahabaleshwara Temple - Lord Shiva temple in Old Mahabaleshwar (known as Kshetra Mahabaleshwar). Mahabaleshwar got name from this temple.

  • Elephants Head Point - The Elephants Head Point is a view point at 12 kms from Mahabaleshwar. The view point is set on a rock that has a shape of elephants head.

  • Mapro Garden - Mapro garden is set on Mahabaleshwar - Panchgani road around Mapro Jam factory where one arrives for purchasing all kinds of local produce such as Strawberry Jams, crush etc. The snack counter outside that serves sandwiches and shakes is also very popular.

  • Arthurs Seat - Arthurs seat is a view point at about 4000 ft asl. Tourist cabs have this point in their tourist plans. Guests also visit Tiger Spring enroute. Guests also visit Dinosaur view point and Window point from Arthurs Seat (requires 200 ft walk).

  • Pratapgarh Fort - Pratapgad fort (3000+ ft asl) is an King Shivaji era fort 15 kms off Mumbai - Goa highway

  • Tapola Lake - Tapola Lake is a set at 27 kms from Mahabaleshwar and is popular with tourists for a visit. Here Canoing / Kayaking / Wind surfing is conducted by Nature trails camp set here.
