Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Amba. Jeep ride around Amba on the periphery of Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary. Arrive at Amba. Amba (3200 ft asl) lies on the Kolhapur - Ratnagiri route and renowned for its bird watching in Winter and a nature centric getaway. Take a Jeep ride around Amba on the periphery of Dajipur Wildlife Sanctuary.

Day-2 Proceed to Ganapatipule. Visit Ganesh Temple, MTDC Watersports centre and Ganapatipule beach. Proceed to Ganapatipule (90 kms - 2.5 hours). Ganapatipule is a renowned beach getaway and one that is visited for its Lord Ganesha Temple. Visit Lord Ganesha Temple, MTDC Watersports centre and Ganapatipule beach in the afternoon. In the evening time permitting, visit Jaigarh Fort and Lighthouse.

Day-3 Sightseeing around Ganapatipule. Ratnagiri excursion. Excursion to Ratnagiri. Enroute visit Kotawadi and area full of countryside character and backwaters. Visit Thiba Palace (Heritage), Bhatye Beach, Ratnadurg Fort (Sea Fort), Ganeshgule Temple and Pawas. Return to Ganapatipule by late afternoon.

Day-4 Departure Depart for onward journey.

Amba Ghat :

  • Amba Ghat - Amba Ghat (3200 ft asl) is set on Kolhapur Ratnagiri highway. The area is a thick forested area, excellent for Bird watching (Winter). Jeep safaris are conducted around the neighbouring Dajipur wildlife sanctuary.

Ganapatipule :

  • Ganapatipule Temple - Ganapatipule is a destination that was made famous by its Lord Ganesh Temple situated right next to the beach. The temple has become now a renowned local pilgrimage and visited all round the year, especially over weekends.

  • Ganapatipule Beach - Ganapatipule beach is a popular beach front, MTDC has a watersports centre here offering a range of options.

  • Pawas - Pawas is well known for the Ashram of Swami Swaroopanand, a renowned spiritual leader.

  • Ganeshgule Temple - Ganeshgule Temple is an ancient Lord Ganesha temple visited from Ratnagiri. The temple is said to have been built earlier than Ganapatipule temple.

Amba Ghat - Amba Ghat (2000+ ft asl) lies 65-70 kms from Kolhapur on the Kolhapur - Ratnagiri Highway. Amba Ghat is surrounded by rainforests and Bison Wildlife Sanctuary.

Ganapatipule - Ganapatipule is 30 km off Mumbai-Panvel-Goa Route and about 350 km from Mumbai and 300 kms from Pune. Ganapatipule is known for its Self-incarnated Ganesh temple, having local significance.
