Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Bangalore and proceed to Coorg. Arrive at Bangalore and proceed to Coorg (250 kms - 6 hours). Coorg (2500-3500 ft asl) is renowned for its Coffee Plantations, Luxury Resorts / Homestays and salibrious climate all round the year.

Day-2 Dubare Elephant Camp, Tibetan Monastery, Nisargadhama Visit. Visit Dubare Elephant camp (Elephant ride, Coracle Ride), Tibetan Monastery and Cauvery Nisargadhama (Open Zoo). Explore local market and Kodagu Cuisine. Visit Abbey Falls during the day.

Day-3 Excursions / Adventure / Experiences in Coorg Excursion to Talcauvery (44 kms from Madikeri), origin of Cauvery river and a local pilgrim centre. Leisure profile guests may just relax and explore local markets and enjoy plantation views. Adventure oriented guests can opt for walk / trek.or visit Now or Neverland Adventure park in West Coorg. Experiential travellers may opt for a Plantation Lunch.

Day-4 Proceed to Mysore via Sravanbelagola. Afternoon visit to Mysore Palace. Travel to Mysore (120 kms - 2.5 hours). Mysore is a renowned tourist destination and popular with heritage travellers with Mysore Palace being the main attraction. Sightseeing tour of Mysore visiting Mysore Palace and 150 years old Jaganmohan Palace.

Day-5 Sightseeing and Excursions In around Mysore Proceed for local sightseeing such as St. Philomena's Church. Excursion to Somnathpur heritage Temples (50 kms) and Sravanbelagola (Tipu Palace - 20 kms).

Day-6 Departure. Depart for Bangalore (150 kms - 3 hours) for onward journey.

Coorg (Madikeri) :

  • Omkareshwar Temple Coorg - Omkareshwar temple in Coorg (built in 1820) overlooks a water tank and is located on outskirts of Madikeri, represents a mix of Islamic and Gothic style of architecture.

  • Abbey Falls - Abbey Falls are a set of waterfalls located at 8 kms from Madikeri One has to walk through plantations to access this. A popular tourist visit place.

  • Dubare Elephant Camp - Dubare elephant camp is set across Cauvery river (A short boat ride required to access) near Kushalnagar. Here guests arrive for an elephant interaction (Bathing an elephant is most enjoyable for kids and adults) and enjoy elephant ride & coracle ride. There is a full day elephant interaction programme guest can opt for or just it can be just a visit.

  • Cauvery Nisargdhama - Cauvery Nisargadhama is a 64 acre nature park having anmals in its nature habitat and is visited as a picnic spot. Elephant rides and feeding deers are an attraction for kids.

  • Neverland Adventure park - Neverland Adventure Park in West Coorg is one of the most popular day outing options for travellers to Coorg with a bit of interest in Adventure and activities.

  • Bylakuppe Buddhist Golden Temple - Bylakuppe is a tibetan settlement where an impressive monastery has been setup besides number of other monasteries, nunneries and temples in all the major Tibetan Buddhist traditions. Bylakuppe also has many buddhist universities for advanced buddhist practices.

  • Talacauvery - Talacauveri is the the origin of the river Cauvery. There are several temples around here and is a popular pilgrimage centre visited by tourists and pilgrims all round the year. Actual river origin is only visible in Monsoon.

Mysore :

  • Mysore Palace - Mysore palace is one of the most famous tourist attractions in India after Taj Mahal with more than 2.7 million visitors. The architectural style of the palace is commonly described as Indo-Saracenic but it is a blend of many other architectural styles. The palace is surrounded by a large garden. The palace is 3 storied and entry fee is required to enter. Tourists are not allowed to take photographs inside the palace. Every autumn, the Palace is the venue for the famous Mysore Dasara festival with the elephant procession on Dussera day being the most sought after event.

  • St Philomenas Church - St. Philomenas church in Mysore was constructed in 1936 using a Neo Gothic style and its architecture was inspired by the Cologne Cathedral in Germany. It still remains a tourist attraction.

  • Jaganmohan Palace - Jaganmohan Palace is a palace in Mysore (1861) and was initially used by the Wodeyars, kings of Mysore as their home before the grand Mysore Palace came up. It is now converted into an art gallery and a function hall. The art gallery contains one of the largest collection of artefacts in South India (2000+). Some of the paintings are those by Raja Ravi Varma. Paintings different Indian styles of painting such as Mysore, Mughal and Shantiniketan.

  • Sravanbelagola - Shravanabelagola is home to statue of Gommateshvara Bahubali and is one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Jainism, The statue is set on a hill and requires climbing several hundred steps.
