Day-1 Arrival at Coimbatore. Travel to Masinagudi Arrival at Coimbatore. Proceed to Masinagudi (120 kms - 3 hrs). Masinagudi lies in the heart of Mudumalai Forests, renowned for its Elephants, birdlife, simple jungle lodges and totally nature centric experience.
Day-2 Walking / Bird watching around Mudumalai Undertake Walking / Trekking (Mountain Treks, Riverside Treks, Grassland Treks) / Bird watching around Mudumalai.
Day-3 Proceed to Mudumalai. Activities around Mudumalai. Explore around Masinagudi such as Theppakadu Elephant Camp OR go for a Jeep Safari in Bandipur (requires pre-booking) or undertake half day trips (Gopalswamibetta, Silk (Sericulture) Farm, Tribal Villages, Historical Places (Hero Stones)
Day-4 Travel to Coonoor via Ooty Travel to Coonoor (55 kms) via Pykkara falls and Ooty. Coonoor is a coffee plantation area renowned for its offbeat character.
Day-5 Sightseeing around Coonoor Full day visit around Coonoor exploring Dolphin’s Nose point and Catherine Falls and other areas around such as Kotagiri.
Day-6 Explore around Coonoor Local sightseeing at Sim's park and Droog's Fort. Based on where the guest is staying, one can also opt for activities such as Horse Riding, Rock Climbing, River Crossing, Fishing (Carp and Trout), Open Jeep Rides etc. Guests can also opt for a short Nilgiri heritage train ride between Metupalayam and Ooty (Tickets to be booked in advance).
Day-7 Departure Depart to Coimbatore (65 kms - 1.5 hours) for onward journey.
Coimbatore - Coimbatore is the second largest city in state of Tamil Nadu and a major textile and engineering hub. The plantation areas Coonnor and Valparai and hill station of ooty and kodaikanal are accessible from here.
Masinagudi - Mudumalai is a popular ex-Bangalore weekend getaway and is visited as a part of Karnataka / Tamilnadu itineraries. Mudumalai is excellent for a more nature centric stay.
Coonoor - Coonoor is the tea plantation area located at an altitude of 5000+ ft asl, at 19 km to the south of Ooty. Coonoor provides the traveler with the panoramic view of the green Nilgiri hills, home to a number of homestays and heritage stays. The area is excellent for bird watching.
