Velavadar lies on the Ahmedabad - Bhavnagar highway and renowned for its population of Blackbucks. Prominent birds around the area comprise Sandgrouse, harrier roost, lesser florican and larks. Day-2 Travel to Diu via Palitana Travel to Diu (250 kms - 5 hrs) via Palitana. Palitana is a major pilgrimage destination and renowned for the temple complex (800+ Jain Temples) set on Shatrunjaya Hill that requires one to take 3000 steps to climb up the hills. Reach Diu by late evening. Diu, an erstwhile Portuguese Colony and now a popular beach getaway. Evening visit to the Nagoa beach.
