Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive at Bhuj. Visits in and around Bhuj Arrive in Bhuj from Rajkot (235 kms). Bhuj is base point to visit Bird watching, craft villages and pilgrimage areas in Kutch. Afternoon visit to Swaminarayan temple, Kutch Museum and Chhattardi (Heritage Site).

Day-2 Excursion to Banni Grassland, Craft Villages and White Desert Visit to Banni Grasslands, Kala Dungar (must see the feeding of the jackals at sunset), India Bridge (last civilian point before the Pak border), Chhari Dhand lake (for bird watchers) and Dhordo Village (80 kms) in the evening for the White Desert.

Day-3 Half day excursion to visit Mata No Madh and Koteshwar Temple. Reach Mandvi by late afternoon. Half day excursion to Mata no madh and Koteshwar Mahadev (150 kms) and then reach Mandvi by late afternoon. Mandvi Beach (60 kms from Bhuj) is one of the finest stretch of idyllic beach in India, recommended for a quiet and relaxing holiday. Guests may opt for a long walk on the beach in the evening

Day-4 In and around Mandvi  Guests have option to enjoy beachside character of the area. Those looking beyond the beaches have options such as Bird Watching in the Mandvi Palace Estate, Visit The Lost City at Nani Rayan (2300 yr old city)-An excavation site, 72 Jain Temple Complex,· Shipyard at Mandvi Port , Wandh Village – Traditional Kutchi Handicraft etc

Bhuj :

  • Chattardi - Chttardi is a cenotaph complex near Bhuj build of red stones, oldest being built in 1770 AD. This is a popular visit option for travellers.

  • Kutch Museum - Kutch Museum is the oldest museum in Gujarat, founded in 1877, it has the largest existing collection of Kshatrapa inscriptions, dating to the 1st century AD, as well as examples of the extinct Kutchi script and an interesting collection of coins. A section of the museum is devoted to tribal cultures. The museum also has exhibits of embroidery, paintings, arms, musical instruments, sculpture and precious metalwork.

  • Swaminarayan Temple Bhuj - Swaminarayan Temple was built post earth quake of 2001 and is one that exhibits impressive architecture as quite a few other swaminarayan temple. The area overlooks lakes and therefore pleasing and quiet for a visit.

  • 72 Jinalaya - 72 Jinalaya is a Jain Pilgrimage at 11 kms from Mandvi and 51 kms from Bhuj and is home to 72 Deris of Lord Mahavir. It is situated on the Mundra-Mandvi Road spread over 80 acre of area.

  • Mandvi Beach - The Private beach of the Vijay Vilas Palace, Mandvi Beach is maintained by the tourism department and is one of the most pristine and idyllic beaches in India. It has been the location for many film shootings.

  • Kala Dungar - Kala dungar is a hill and the highest point in Kutch area which is home to a locally significant Lord Dattatreya temple. The hill offers excellent views of the desert around.

  • White Desert - The Great Rann of Kutch, is a seasonal salt marsh located in the Thar Desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat. Dhordo Village, 80 kms from Bhuj is now renowned as one visited for its desert with a white sheen, for being the the largest salt desert in the world. The White Sheen on the desert is unique and therefore attracts visitors in large numbers. Dhorodo village is also centre for Mutua embroidery (small mirrors, leather embroidery and silver jewellery). Guests can puchase handicrafts directly from the artisans here.

  • Mata No Madh - Ashapura Temple - Mata no Madh is name of the place, where the famous temple of Ashapura Mata, the head deity of Kutch stands at 95 km from Bhuj. The temple was built in 14th century and now considered a must visit for any one hailing from Kutch. Mata no Madh is also visited enroute Narayan Sarovar and Koteshwar temple and visited alongwith Lakhpat in a day excursion ex-Bhuj.

  • Koteshwar Temple - The Koteshwar temple is a renowned Lord Shiva temple, 4 kms from Narayan Sarovar and about 155 kms from Bhuj. There are thousand sacred lingas dedicated to lord Shiva are found in the temple For a general pilgrimage traveller Lakhpat Sikh Pilgrimage (37 kms from Koteshwar), Koteshwar and Narayan Sarovar (4 kms from Koteshwar) all can be visited in a day visit.
