Detailed Itinerary

Day-1 Arrive in North Goa.. Evening visit to the local beaches. Arrive in North Goa. North Goa is a beach getway renowned for its good beaches, beachside hotels and the atmosphere around it which includes Shacks, Bars, Restaurants and Watersports. Visit local beaches in the evening (Baga, Calangute and Candolim are three most visited beaches in North Goa which offer Watersports (Oct - May). Anjuna and Vagator are two beaches that wear an idyllic character)

Day-2 Half day sightseeing visiting Old Goa, North Goa Temples followed by River Cruise OR Bird Watching in Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary or Excursion to Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary Guests with sightseeing interest may visit Fort Aguada in the morning and experience stunning views of the Arabian Sea. In the afternoon undertake half-day sightseeing of the North Goa visiting Old Goa (UNESCO World heritage site), St Francis Church and Temples in North Goa (Such as Mangeshi Temple, Nagesh Temple and Shanta Durga Temple). Guests with no interest in pursuing touristy sightseeing may opt for a visit to Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary near Panjim for Bird watching (Oct - March recommended Season)

Day-3 Half Day sightseeing to South Goa or Spice Plantation Visit or visit to heritage areas of Panjim  Guests may opt for a half day sightseeing to beaches of South Goa as may be provided in the package opted for. Guests interested in exploring heritage character of Goa may opt for a visit to Panjim for a walk down the heritage bylanes of Panjim. Nature Traveller may visit Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary near Panjim (if not visited on Day 2)

Day-4 Proceed to Mollem. Enroute visit Spice Plantation.  Proceed to Proceed to Mollem (60 kms - 2 hours), enroute visit Spice Plantation near Ponda where ethnic cuisine, farm based activities, elephant ride and agro processing can be experienced over Lunch. Thereafter guests may proceed to Dudhsagar waterfalls before reaching Mollem.

Day-5 Morning Visit to Bondla Sanctuary followed by Zuari Boat ride Morning Visit to Bondla Sanctuary where one finds many exotic birds like Oriental Dwarf Kingfisher and Malabar Trogon, followed by Zuari Boat ride in afternoon where one can sight 5 kingfisher varieties of Goa (Including Black Capped and Collared variety).

Day-6 Morning visit to Tambdi Surla and Bird watching in area before Departure Morning visit to Tambdi Surla Temple, an ancinet Shiva temple and Bird watching in and around area before Departure

Detailed Sightseeing

Mollem :

  • Bird Watching in Bhagwan Mahaveer Sanctuary - Earlier known as Mollem Sanctuary, It situated on the east of Goa on the Karnataka border and accessible from Panjim / Madgaon. The area is excellent for spotting migratory birds in Winter. Popular birds which can be seen in the sanctuary include: Drongo, Emerald dove, Fairy bluebird, Golden oriole, Greater Indian hornbill etc

  • Mahadev Temple Tambdi Surla - Mahadev Temple, Tambdi Surla is a 12th century Shaivite temple of the Lord Mahadeva and an active place of Hindu worship. It is notable as the oldest temple in Goa. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is reminiscent of the temples at Aihole in neighbouring Karnataka.

  • Dudhsagar Waterfalls - Dudhsagar is one of the worlds most exquisite waterfalls around. It is 5th tallest waterfall in India at 310 meters. The falls lie high up in the Mandovi Rivers watershed and so are mainly monsoon fed (June - Oct).

  • Bondla Zoo - Bondla Zoo is located within Bondla reserve forest area and is home to many birds and animals including a Tiger. Area around Bondla Zoo is excellent for bird watching especially in mornings when more than 100 varieties have been spotted including White Throated Kingfisher, Black hooded Oriole, Common Iora, Indian Blackbird, Lesser Golden Backed Woodpecker, Oriental Magpie Robin, Orange headed Thrush, Barn Swallow, Dusty Crag Martin, Red Vented Bulbul, Red Cheeked Bulbul etc.

  • Zuari River Boat Ride - Zuari River Boat Ride is one of the popular activity for bird watchers to Karmali and Mollem area. This is where one can sight the sought after Collared Kingfisher and Black capped Kingfisher alongwith more common kingfisher variants of White Throated Kingfisher and Common Kingfisher. This boat ride also is an excellent for mangrove photography, Marsh Crocodiles and Brahminy Kites.

North Goa :

  • Calangute Beach - First beach to arrive in North Goa and kind of a public beach and therefore always a bit touristy and crowded. There are hotels, restaurants and bars all around the area.

  • Candolim Beach - Candolim is quieter and relatively less visited of the three prime North Goa Beaches (other two being Calangute and Baga). It has number of hotels around it and a rusting abandoned ship kind of hogs the attention of guests visiting Candolim.

  • Baga Beach - Baga is tourist hub of north Goa with hotels, restaurants, shacks and tourists arriving all round the year. Winter especially is considering very happening here with all kinds of bars, pubs and restaurants opening up around the area. It can get terribly crowded as well.

  • Fort Aguada - Fort Aguada (1612) and its lighthouse is a Portuguese fort on Sinquerim Beach in North Goa overlooking the Arabian Sea. Fort Aguada is a popular visit option for tourists

  • Anjuna Beach - Anjuna beach is one of the well visited idyllic beaches of North goa at just a few kms from the famed Calangute - Baga beaches.

  • Vagator Beach - Adjoining the famous Anjuna beach, Vagator is a little more laid back. The tourist traffic is predominantly Western backpackers, however it has also become popular with Indian tourists, who particularly come to watch the sunset from the rocks.

  • Old Goa - Old Goa is a historical city in North Goa constructed in the 15th century, and served as capital of Portuguese India from the 16th century. The remains of the city are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Old Goa contains churches affiliated to various congregations, including the Se Cathedral (the seat of the Archbishop of Goa), the Church of St. Francis of Assisi, the Church of S. Caetano, and notably, the Basilica of Bom Jesus which contains the relics of Saint Francis Xavier.

  • Se Cathedral - Se Cathedral (1631) is part of Old Goa, a UNESCO world heritage site. It is one of the tallest and largest heritage structures in Goa. The massive structure took about 62 years to complete.

  • Zuari River Boat Ride - Zuari River Boat Ride is one of the popular activity for bird watchers to Karmali and Mollem area. This is where one can sight the sought after Collared Kingfisher and Black capped Kingfisher alongwith more common kingfisher variants of White Throated Kingfisher and Common Kingfisher. This boat ride also is an excellent for mangrove photography, Marsh Crocodiles and Brahminy Kites.

  • Shanta Durga Temple Bicholim - Shri Shantadurga Devasthan Nanora is a Hindu temple where presiding deity is Shantadurga worshiped in the form of Vishweshwari. The main idol in the sanctum sanctorum is more than 800 years old and is in the form of lingam. The deity is believed to be patron deity of 96 Kulee Maratha, Kalavants, and Rajapur Saraswat Brahmins community spread all over India.

  • Nagueshi Temple Ponda - Nagueshi Temple is an ancient Lord Shiva temple (15th Century) near Mangeshi temple. Nagesh temple (as its also commonly referred) is visited all round the year by Pilgrims and tourists to Goa.

  • Sahakari Spice Farm - Sahakari Spice Farm is very popular day visit option for guests traveling to Goa and looking at an experience beyond beaches. Sahakari Spice Farm is spread over 130 acres, 60 acres of this area is exclusively devoted to the cultivation of Spices, Fruits, Medicinal trees and Herbs. In addition to visit to the spice garden and ago processing units, Sahakari farm has a restaurant offers elephant rides and folk dances

  • Mahalaxmi Temple Ponda - Shri Mahalaxmi Temple is a popular Devi Temple situated 4 kms from Ponda at 300 meters from Nagesh Temple.

  • Dudhsagar Waterfalls - Dudhsagar is one of the worlds most exquisite waterfalls around. It is 5th tallest waterfall in India at 310 meters. The falls lie high up in the Mandovi Rivers watershed and so are mainly monsoon fed (June - Oct).
