    The Sanga Choeling Monastery established in the 17th century by Lama Lhatsun Chempo, is one of the oldest monasteries in Sikkim. The Monastery is located on a ridge top above Pelling at a distance of 7 kilometres from Pemayangtse Monastery and is accessed by walking the steep hilly track of 4 kms, which traverses through rich forest cover.     Khecheopalri Lake is a sacred Lake for both Buddhists and Hindus located near Khecheopalri village at 34 kms from Pelling. The lake is an integral part of the much revered valley of "Demazong" and said to have been blessed by Guru Padmasambhava. The Khecheopalri Lake is also part of Buddhist religious pilgrimage circuit involving the Yuksom, the Dubdi Monastery in Yuksom, Pemayangtse Monastery, the Rabdentse ruins, the Sanga Choeling Monastery, and the Tashiding Monastery. An interesting feature of the lake is that leaves are not allowed to float on the lake, which is ensured by the birds which industriously pick them up as soon as they drop into the lake surface.

    The Norbugang Chorten is situated 40 kms from Pelling. It was erected following the crowning of the first Chogyal of Sikkim in 1642 at Narbugong Coronation Throne near Yuksom. A holy lake known as Kuthok Lake, a serene lake, is also linked to the place.     The Varsey Rhododendron Sanctuary (or Barsey Rhododendron Sanctuary) is situated in West Sikkim in Singalila Range bordering Nepal.
