Reasons to Visit
  • North Goa comprises Baga-Calangute-Candolim-Sinquerim, different ends to a single stretch of beach, which gets visitors from all over India and has made Goa the world renowned destination.
  • North Goa (Baga - Calangute - Candolim - Sinquerim Stretch) during Oct-March period transforms itself into an experience. Restaurants, pubs and nightlife here are highlights.
  • Shacks are set up on the beach where lively music is on all through the day. Watersports are conducted around here
  • North Goa beaches are considered the safest in India.
  • Charter Operators from East Europe and Russia bring in plane loads of guests for fixed duration stay (Multiples of 1 week) and fill North Goa during season.
  • To cater to this demand there are a number of apartment type hotels in North Goa set up where guests stay in simple suite category rooms.
  • During June-Sept corporates conduct their incentives and get-togethers for which North Goa is a popular destination.
Know It
  • North Goa during June-Sept is more sedate with only odd shack open, streets deserted (except Sundays) and most restaurants closed or semi-closed. Calangute and Baga end of the Beaches are public beaches and India tourists and day visitors throng them. Stretch between Baga and Canangute have a lot of resorts with private beach access that have a relatively peaceful beachfront. Stretch between Calangute / Candolim / Sinquerim is not typically visited by the day visitors and so left for the house guests of resorts here to explore. There are over a hundred resorts on this stretch of beach all stacked next to each other and they range from budget hotels to mid-segment Compact Hotels. Except Budget hotels and homestays most other hotels in North Goa at least have a swimming Pool. A typical North Goan Hotel has simple but clean rooms, a swimming pool, a bar, a small restaurant and a little lawn area. Some have private beach access and other face the Main Road or bylanes. There are quite a few boutique hotels that serve as premium / luxury getaways.
  • Scuba Diving Destinations on Mainland India"Barracuda Diving in Sun Village offers PADI certified courses where one can learn diving and also where professional divers can try out many dive sites in and around Coastal Goa"
  • Beach Resort Destinations in India"Baga, Calangute and Candolim are ends of a single stretch of beach having hundreds of hotels, resorts and villas around it. The beaches are good for swimming and have many pubs, shacks and watersports activities available around them. There are many nightclubs around here that are popular and that makes North Goa party capital of India."
