  • Le Morne is a peninsula in Maurutius on the south-western tip.
  • Le Morne is highlighted by an eponymous basaltic monolith with a summit 556 metres (1,824 ft) above sea level. The summit covers an area of over 12 hectares (30 acres). There are many caves and overhangs on the steep slopes. This is also UNESCO listed world heritage site
  • Le Morne is largely surrounded by a lagoon and is a well known tourist attraction.
  • Le Morne is also a refuge for two rare plants, the Mandrinette and, growing only on the sides of the mountain, the Boucle d'Oreille.
  • There are many resorts in Le Morne area that are renowned for their exclusivity and excellent Snorkeling and Scuba Diving

    The Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Botanical Garden commonly known as the Pamplemousses Botanical Garden, is a popular tourist attraction near Port Louis, Mauritius, and the oldest botanical garden in the Southern Hemisphere. The garden was first constructed by Pierre Poivre (1719 – 1786) in 1770, and covers an area of around 37 hectares. While the garden is most famous for its giant water lilies, the garden features spices, ebonies, sugar canes as well as 85 varieties of palms from Central America, Asia, Africa and the islands around the Indian Ocean.
