    The Great Rann of Kutch, is a seasonal salt marsh located in the Thar Desert in the Kutch District of Gujarat. Dhordo Village, 80 kms from Bhuj is now renowned as one visited for its desert with a white sheen, for being the the largest salt desert in the world. The White Sheen on the desert is unique and therefore attracts visitors in large numbers. Dhorodo village is also centre for Mutua embroidery (small mirrors, leather embroidery and silver jewellery). Guests can puchase handicrafts directly from the artisans here.

    Mata no Madh is name of the place, where the famous temple of Ashapura Mata, the head deity of Kutch stands at 95 km from Bhuj. The temple was built in 14th century and now considered a must visit for any one hailing from Kutch. Mata no Madh is also visited enroute Narayan Sarovar and Koteshwar temple and visited alongwith Lakhpat in a day excursion ex-Bhuj.
