Napier is base town for visiting Vineyards of Hawk’s Bay. Hawke’s bay is known as one of the warmest and driest regions of New Zealand and home to New Zealand’s oldest operating winery producing finest wines.

Guests can explore vineyards by opting for a guided tour of the region. The visitor information centre has a guided food and wine trail map that would enable cyclists and self drive guests to explore the trail on their own as well. Apart from the local wines, you can also sample the local delicacies in the many restaurants and cafes in the area.

There are over 30 wineries and vineyards here that are open for tours and wine-tasting. However, there are some keep their cellars closed during winter.

Hawk’s Bay is one of the recommended for experiences for any self-drive trip or for an experiential traveller looking to experience authentic wine and cuisine of New Zealand.
