Valley of Flowers Trek
Valley of flowers is a popular trek to a valley that blooms in August. Base point of Valley of Flowers trek is Govindghat, which is accessed from Joshimath (250 kms from Rishikesh).
Valley of Flowers National Park is nestled high in West Himalaya, renowned for its meadows of endemic alpine flowers and outstanding natural beauty. The area is also home to rare and endangered animals, including the Asiatic black bear, snow leopard, brown bear and blue sheep.
Ghangharia (8000 ft asl) is situated off the Joshimath - Badrinath route and is the base point to access Valley of Flowers Trek (Valley flowers bloom in August). Ghangharia is accessible 4 months in a year (June-Sept) and Valley of flowers is best visited in August.
