Vagamon - A Hillside Offbeat Getaway
Vagamon (3000+ ft asl) is a hillside getaway surrounded by greenery on all sides having an offbeat fervor. Vagamon lies on the plantation highlands on the Kottayam – Idukki border and is renowned for its misty climate, waterfalls and a completely non-touristy feel.
Vagamon has also evolved as an ex-Cochin local getaway (100 kms from Cochin) where guests arrive here to visit Kurisumala hill (pilgrimage center for the Nazrani Catholics), Indo-Swiss Project Dairy Farms, Vagamon Meadows (Natural meadow formation), Thangal Hill (Muslim Pilgrimage), Pine forests, Murugan Hill (Lord Murugan Temple) and Mooppanpara (V Shaped Canyon).
Vagamon is perhaps what Munnar used to be before tourism happened and so guests looking for cut off nature centric stays and an offbeat fervor to their stay.
