Austria is an alpine nation in Western Europe. It is a contrast of outstanding natural landscapes and elegant urban pockets. It is a kind of destination where you will be enjoying the serene alpine lake over a bicycle ride and you can also step out to explore the narrow backstreet of Vienna.

For western travellers Austria came into limelight with the hollywood movie ‘Sound of Music’ where Summers and winters are extensively featured. For Indian travellers Austria has featured in many Indian movies.

Austria shares its borders with Switzerland in the east, Germany in the north east, Italy in the south east, Slovenia in the south; Czech Republic in the north west. Austria therefore is start point of east europe itineraries and combines well with Germany as a destination.

During winter its winter sports capital of Europe. The region is famous for it’s great outdoor activities (which include mountain biking, alpine skiing, hiking), Viennescoffee, beer, beautiful architecture, and a rich history woven over a thousand years.

These alpine destinations get transformed in Summers as destinations for walking, trekking and countryside experience.

Moving around in Austria is convenient as travellers opt for Austrian Rail Pass with a combined offer with local bus travel in a way that makes travel easy, very affordable and thoroughly enjoyable.

Austria has become a highly popular destination for evolved Indian travellers looking for an alternative to Switzerland
